Read and loved the play script of 1939 by @janilauzon last summer. Finally saw a production today at @canadianstage and just wow. Wow. Powerfully performed
Update to yesterday’s parking lot remote key fob mystery. Not the end of the world, but rather car thieves using a signal jammer to prevent someone from properly locking their car?!? Person thinks their car is locked, goes in shopping, and thieves just open the door…
But then a woman two spots over sees me struggling and comes over to ask if my remote key had died too. TOO! What are the odds? How about a third guy, a few spots down in the next row! Three cars at the same time that close together?!? Is the end of the world upon us?!?
Riddle me this, interwebs: This morning I’m in a big box parking lot. After shopping, my remote key fob won’t work. Battery isn’t that old, and the car didn’t give any warnings like the last time the battery died…
Yes, there was a seven-hour time difference and a trans-Atlantic flight involved, but if you can explain how I got 27 standing hours in a single day without bending the laws of physics, you are smarter than I…
Another incredible session from @yadvashem educator Lori Gerson today, a timely lesson on teaching about current antisemitism. This session alone was worth the 9316 km journey to #YVeduConf
Two of my favourite @yadvashem Holocaust educators together, as Rabbi Moshe Cohn introduces Lori Gerson before her session on Avraham Peter, who went from ghetto boy to rocket man. #YVeduConf
One of some 150 educators from 39 countries present. Proud to represent @CdnSocYadVashem and learn more about the evolving context of Holocaust education
Didn’t get to share this on the podcast, but recently had the mom of a Jewish student say in an email “stay safe and please keep them safe.” I could feel her fear, and it haunts me #OnEdMentors
The Holocaust is a layer of Judaism, not a pillar. It’s a significant part of Jewish history, but not the only thing to learn about Jews and Jewish culture #JewishHeritageMonth#onedmentors
