❕RFK Jr. sues Utah Lt. Governor Deidre Henderson over state ballot access law

In Utah, an Independent must gather 1,000 signatures between January 2nd and 8th to earn ballot access in November.

Kennedy’s lawsuit states: “No state in the history of the United States has sought to impose such an early date to collect, validate and file ballot access petitions to secure ballot access for the general election to be held on the far-off date of Nov. 5, 2024.”

The lawsuit requests an “immediate emergency temporary restraining order” on the rule and that a new deadline be set for August 1, calling the current rule an unconstitutional “violation of rights guaranteed to Plaintiff RFK under the First and Fourteenth Amendments.”
