💛 Bangor FC Launches 'One Small Action' Initiative for Mental Health Awareness Week
Bangor FC is supporting Mental Health Awareness Week 2026 (11–17 May) with the launch of a community initiative called One Small Action.
This year's Mental Health Awareness Week theme is Take Action, and in that spirit, Bangor FC is encouraging everyone in our community to take one small step to support good mental health.
The initiative is led by 'We Care You Matter', Bangor FC's dedicated Mental Health and Wellbeing team, which supports every strand of the club, from first team to academy, supporters to volunteers.
The team works across all areas of the club to ensure everyone associated with Bangor FC has access to the support and guidance they need, and is committed to promoting positive mental health while raising awareness of how mental illness can affect individuals, families, and communities.
Kenny Greenhill, Bangor FC's Mental Health and Wellbeing Officer, said: "Mental Health Awareness Week is a reminder that we all have a role to play in supporting one another. We believe that even the smallest actions can make a real difference. They can help us feel hopeful, less alone, and more connected to those around us. When our community comes together, that impact grows even stronger. We are asking everyone to take one small action this week, whether that is checking in on a friend, reaching out to a family member, or simply taking a moment for yourself. At Bangor FC, we want everyone to know that we care, and you matter."
To mark the week, the We Care You Matter team will be visiting people across the local community to raise the profile of mental health and encourage open, positive conversations about wellbeing.
Kenny continued: "Bangor FC is committed to the health and wellbeing of our players, our supporters, and our wider community. Mental Health Awareness Week is a reminder that we all have a role to play and that together, we can make a real difference. Join us and take one small action this week."

At our final game of the season against Portadown on 25th April, our We Care You Matter team are launching something simple, but important — One Small Action.
It’s part of Mental Health Awareness Week (11th–17th May), but really, it’s about something bigger than a single week.
We all know someone who’s had a tough time. Sometimes we know, sometimes we don’t.
A message. A quick chat. Asking “are you alright?” — it might not feel like much, but it can mean everything to someone who needs it.
This week, take one small action. Check in on a mate. Pick up the phone. Or take a moment to check in on yourself too — because that matters just as much.
You’re not alone, even if it feels like it sometimes. And as a club, that’s something we believe in — looking out for each other.
One small action can make a big difference.
