Umpires!!! 🤦♂️
When talking to players and parents about how things are going, about how the last game went, about how the tournament went, the one thing I literally do not care about one bit is how the umpires performed.
Been around this game long enough to know they aren’t the reason for poor performance. They aren’t the reason your team lost. They aren’t the reason you walked too many batters. They aren’t the reason you keep striking out. They aren’t the reason you made fielding errors. They aren’t the reason…
There are SOOO many other things that determine the outcome of a game and performance but trying to throw blame and shame on some calls you think were missed (yes they miss calls) while downplaying you and your teams mistakes is weak. It’s soft. It doesn’t work. I want to hear you evaluate YOUR performance. What went well. What didn’t go well. What can you do different next time and what can you do between now and your next opportunity to be prepared.
STOP TALKING ABOUT UMPIRES!!
Just over a week done from our 24-25 Summer season! These girls came every weekend to perform and compete against all competition. We have some rockstars on offense, defense AND in the circle! ⤵️Below are some overall summer highlights for this past summer🔥😤 @SilverHawkSball
Thank you travel softball for being my life for the past 9 years and thank you @SilverHawkSball for everything you have done for me. Couldn't have ended on a higher note hitting .613 with 8 hits this weekend. So much love for this team❤️

One of the best home run hitters in @NCAASoftball history is joining the Buckeyes. Let’s give a warm welcome to new assistant coach @KarliSpaid 🌰

• “I can’t believe they called that a strike!”
• “I can’t believe they called that a ball!”
• “How did they miss that call, it was so obvious!”
• “That’s a BALK!!”
• “These umpires are terrible!”
🧠
• “Why did I take a pitch that close?”
• “I’ll remember that for my next at bat.”
• “I need to be better at executing my pitches.”
• “I need to breathe better to help stay relaxed and focused.”
• “What can I do different before the next game to be better prepared?”
• “I need to be better focused in the dugout and study my opponents.”
• “I need to focus better on what I can control, my attitude, effort, energy and focus.”
Get your mind right!
Six of the biggest regrets athletes have later in life:
1. Not giving their best effort.
2. Not taking enough risks.
3. Not putting their team first.
4. Not enjoying the moment.
5. Not prioritizing their physical and mental health.
6. Not spending enough time with family.
As a young athlete, focus more on long-term development than short-term winning. If you take the time to master the fundamentals of your technique, fitness, and mental game, you’ll eventually surpass your competition and reach your full potential!
Appreciate the NOW.
Rick Pitino is spot on. Every player’s hourglass runs out faster than they think.
One day, the practices, the games, the grind - it’s all gone.
Cherish every rep, every moment, every opportunity.
Don’t waste your sand. ⏳
🗣️TEAM OF THE WEEK
@TusculumSB is off to an 8-0 start which is the best in program history. Danielle Jason was named National Player of the Week this week and head coach Julie Huebner picked up the 300th win of her career on Feb. 4!
@TusculumSports
You can either be scared of competition, or you can embrace it. The best athletes embrace competition because they know it brings out the best in them.
Had a chance to see my former Fullback, Ben Alvarez, play for Harvard in a tough loss to Yale in the 140th playing of The Game. Win or lose, it’s always great to see our former Foxes play at the next level!
