@DrJamesHassan The kids were given five minutes to gather eggs from the yard. The twist: the baskets are stationary and you have to keep count of your eggs. The child with the most eggs and able to give me the correct count wins. The youngest child won....twice! #HassanELED479
A10 @DrJamesHassan I felt as if I was all over the place trying to respond to the questions and my classmates. ME LIKEEEE. No shade, I enjoyed the twitter class more than some of my sitting instruction. #HassanELED479
A7 @DrJamesHassan Incorporating creativity into each lesson will come naturally to those of us that are not too keen of book instruction. #HassanELED479
@MsAmbrose4@DrJamesHassan I have seen this, too. For some of the students, it is easier to interact or pretend that they are interacting on their device vs. developing relationships with other students. Its almost as if they are trying to avoiding that awkward moment of socializing.
A6a @DrJamesHassan You know, I have recognized that children would rather sit in front of a screen vs. explore the outdoors. I can only assume that the relationship with the screen is more intriguing than the personalities you meet on the playground. #HassanELED479
@AlexiaBlack16@DrJamesHassan Believe it or not, my mentor teacher will restrict some of the students from engaging in free play. I find this odd because in the Baltimore County Wellness Policy, restricting students from recess is not allowed. ๐ง
A6b @DrJamesHassan The idea of play is not lost upon the entire generation. As a matter of fact, I have witnessed teachers use the restriction of outside play as a class management tool. Trust me, the kids want their outdoor recess. #HassanELED479
A6c @DrJamesHassan Dogwood Elementary School ensures that each student enjoys the benefit of recess everyday. If the weather permits, recess is outside and the kids love it. I wonder what this would look like if parents enforced daily recess outdoors. #HassanELED479
@MsWheelersWorld @DrJamesHassan A5 @MsWheelersWorld @DrJamesHassan Interesting! I could imagine sharing my device screen while walking through a museum and having the students respond from the classroom or their homes. This would be safer, easier, and more convenient than managing a class trip. #HassanELED479
A4 @DrJamesHassan I pay for the yearly subscription to access https://t.co/zOrtv48CVq The material they have has always been beneficial for my studies and even more useful when creating lesson plans for my DTP student. #HassanELED479
A3 @DymondThompson1@DrJamesHassan#teacherchat is another platform for teachers to pass ideas and creativity. This tweet allows a break to enjoy some humor while plotting the serious reality of departing from an employer. #HassanELED479
@DrJamesHassan The first question that comes to mind......classroom management! What are some of the great techniques used to calm the students before entering the classroom?
A2
@DrJamesHassan#BmoreEdchat is a collection of teachers and professionals in the city that are using the platform to collaborate and bounce ideas pertaining to education. They are currently discussing the transition to online learning. #HassanELED479
A1 @DrJamesHassan This mini lesson was very informative. Over time, I have learned to create new techniques for certain activities. I feel that some of these techniques are more of a benefit for my own physique. #HassanELED479
