@AXAHealth I'm having trouble logging into my account online today. The page says an error occurred whilst serving your request.
Is there an issue with your website?
@yuptaeyoo @AndrewBowie_MP Agree there are huge problems in the UK at the moment, hope you agree that we need less challenges for producers and retailers at this time not more of them. We need a plan for economic growth, and I'm sure you will agree that removing challenges enables that.
@Eurobin @angelauk1900 @AndrewBowie_MP Unfortunately that scheme in Scotland isnt as simple as other countries. If you buy a glass bottle at your local shop l, then take it to Aldi to get your deposit bac Aldi will give you a voucher to spend in Aldi. So takes away trade from the local shop as well.
@NickNairn@bbcdebatenight 1. Do we have a list of producers who have signed up to the DRS?
2. Do consumers need to accept vouchers from RVMs, cash was paid for the items, & cash should be returned.
3. Is there a time limit on returning bottles? For example, a nice bottle of whisky may take years to drink?
@ZachESaunders@TheJackRSC@lornaslater But @ZachESaunders the scheme is increasing costs through complexity and extra processes. Just purchasing the RVM means stores need to recover that cost, or producers needing extra storeage for Scottish only bottles....means your bottle of vodka will increase by more than the 20p
@martin_g_reid@SteveQuinn6@lornaslater You're over thinking it.....you just need to photocopy the bar code, stick it on an empty toilet roll and take it to the RVM, might need to wet it a bit if it needs some weight to trigger it. Fraud is already a risk which has been highlighted and ignored.
@Shulsen@lornaslater However you will likely get a voucher instead of cash back or a refund on your card. The vouchers will need to be spent in the store where you returned those bottles.
Means that school, kids clubs etc cannot do drives to raise cash like the old days.
@Fyrishsunset Unfortunately it will likely be more than 20p added per bottle, there will be additional costs that both the producer and supermarket that will need covered.
Everything from extra storage just for Scottish bottles to the reverse vending machines.....probably double it to 40p
@Kennywa76014207 @HTScotPol Indeed @Kennywa76014207 , strange why they didn't ask other countries for feedback or suggestions for our own scheme in Scotland.....would make sense, no?
@santanderuk Hi @santanderuk , i've tried to upgrade my account to the new Edge account however your online system wont allow me too. The nice lady on your online chat told me to visit my local branch....but you closed it, any ideas?
