10. You may break your trap but only if the tank is otherwise engaged. Never break sheep unless mage is dead. Break sheep, you’re banned and rightfully so. Don’t break Fear; warlock conniption incoming. Nothing worse than an angry cosplay female gnome warlock.
Starting a hunter if you’ve never been a hunter, level 21-30
1. Learn Damage Meter protocol. As a duo you should be using it even when soloing. Observe pet attacks are 40% of your damage and autoshot is 40%. Your management of these two outweigh all other shots.
9 Jumping down, always Dismiss Pet. Proper pet management is how you get invited to raids. Pulling the instance with Fluffy pathing through the trash goes on your permanent record.
10. Put it all together. You’re a two-person arsenal of aggro management, multi mob control, massive quantities of sustained ranged DPS, and pet snackies who can party hard and come out without a scratch but a smoking hot barrel in any situation.
And prepare for Jumping Down.
Starting a hunter if you’ve never been a hunter, levels 11-20:
1. Learning pet spells requires taming pets, learning their spells, releasing them, getting your pet out of the stables, and teaching your baby these new spells. Learn them all. Learn where the rare spells come from.
8. Join a real party. Learn about the Focus Target, and how to make the Tank your Focus. Burn the tank’s Focus, with Growl disabled.
9. Learn to put a Freezing Trap at the Healer’s feet, trap the mob the tank lost, re-Growl, and off tank the trapped mob.
Starting a hunter if you’ve never started a hunter, levels 1-9:
1. Never go in the cave unless you’re in a party.
2. The axe is the wrong answer, employing it means you failed.
3. Strafing is much better than backing up.
