@Hush_Kit If you apply full thrust from lower approach speeds, because the engine’s thrust is forward of the wing’s centre of lift it causes the nose to pitch up. Not unusual but certainly on the 300s it could out perform the pitch trim ability. So it would be power, trim, power etc.

@BlickyIan Never made the pre contact position work in the C130. Sit there, all nicely stable and trimmed, add a bit of power and the whole thing rolls and yaws. Best to sit half a mile astern and charge in hoping for the best. Probably why I was hopeless at it
