@dinofrank_ Remember, the best plan for an interview is to be honest and authentic. If you want a thoughtful question to ask at the end of the interview: "when you think about the ideal characteristics to be successful in this role, what are the top 3?"
@Ruben_A_Sanchez@BatsouElef One of my main businesses is helping people with their interview process. I've recently started building a saas product to analyze resumes and job descriptions to help with targeting. Would you be up for DMing to talk about your experience trying to land interviews?
@colinfran I help people with interview loops and have recently begun building soft are around resume analysis. Would you mind DMing to chat? I'm at that point where my product needs to experience the reality of actual customer resumes and target job descriptions.
@ujjwalscript This is a great list - I would add: practicing coding interviews is important, but don't neglect the situational interview practice. The "tell me about a time when" type questions can really be a problem for engineers because there's a belief that code is enough.
I believe the whole of the #jobinterview system is broken and am building a company to fix it. Reply with your biggest job interview ick, either as the candidate or the hiring company.
@imvedanshmehra Because, in my experience, people in tech want to feel smarter/better than everyone in terms of how they convey their company during the interview process. It's kind of a joke because we all know that live coding doesn't correlate. White board, sure - show me how you think.
@iamserverr @SnapnetNigeria This is appalling. I understand from my experiences in big tech that sometimes the HR folks get overwhelmed and fall behind, but this is not OK. Sorry this happened to you.
@VictoriaTheTech@KatieF It's a combination of hubris, burn the boats mentality, and complete burn out. Being in a position where you are not getting the interviews *sucks* - worse, it's hard for most people to imagine it would happen to them.
@VictoriaTheTech @lb_cabrera @twisted_panic To be perfectly honest, dealing with a room full of screaming kids is very much like a product roadmap review. :)
@nilostolte@Jakeroid Puzzles (in the brain teaser sense) have mostly gone away. The companies are trying to solve for whether you can do the job or not. Unfortunately, many of them are doing it the wrong wya.
