It is winter. 🎈
What does winter look like in #BigThicket? Evergreen pine forests remain vibrant and green while cypress sloughs take on a moody monotone appearance.

Park rangers recently rescued this abandoned truck stuck in a ditch.
Many of #BigThicket's roads are unpaved and muddy for days after it rains. Even lifted 4WD trucks like this one can get stuck in the mud!
We'll have icy roads this week, too. Drive safely!
❄️ SNOW WAY, Y'ALL!
We've got a winter storm headed for southeast Texas, forecast to bring temps in the teens, snow, and sleet. The visitor center will be closed on Tue, Jan 21.
Trails and waters will remain open. Stay warm! 🥶
