The Spencer brothers are one of the most interesting stories of the 2025-26 NBA season 👀
Two different journeys from the same family led to two drastically different franchises.
Yet, one thing makes both stand out.
Both are tough.
Both are menaces.
Both are the exact off-the-bench glue guys every team needs 😤
Older brother Pat Spencer has one of the most unique paths in the league.
Originally a lacrosse star at Loyola Maryland (2016-19), he made a late switch to pro basketball.
Since going undrafted in 2020, Pat climbed step by step, season by season...From the G League, he eventually earned a spot in the Warriors’ rotation.
In the minutes he gets, Pat brings nonstop hustle and elite two-way effort. And when he yelled “I am that mtherf**ker”* during a game against Philadelphia, he instantly became a fan favorite in the Bay 🗣️
Especially, another menace in the Bay, Draymond Green, loved Pat’s no-back-down attitude.
If Pat Spencer is a key off-the-bench piece for the most valuable team in the NBA, the Warriors, then younger brother Cam Spencer is playing a similar role for the least valuable team, the Grizzlies.
Due to the Grizzlies missing Ja Morant, a reported coach-player feud, and multiple injuries, it was a poor start for them.
However, out of nowhere, they’ve surprisingly started to look competitive. Many players have contributed, but Cam Spencer’s rise has been a huge factor.
Drafted in 2024 as a second-round pick (53rd overall) by the Pistons and later traded to the Grizzlies, Cam’s rookie year didn’t show much at first.
But let’s make a fun assumption…maybe watching his older brother shine in Golden State pushed him to another level in Memphis!
In a recent two-game span, Cam exploded for 47 points on 15-of-19 shooting, including an insane 13-of-16 from three.
And just like Pat, he talks the talk. Cam recently shouted “YOU HAVE TO GET HIM OFF OF ME” toward the Clippers’ coaching staff while trolling them mid-game.
Pat and Cam Spencer are doing it their own ways…different paths, different teams…but together, they’re making the Spencer family proud 🙌
