The reported life sentence against @MahrangBaloch_ is not merely a verdict against one woman, it is a test of the world’s commitment to human rights, freedom of expression, and justice.

For years, voices from Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and beyond have raised concerns about enforced disappearances, political repression, and the silencing of dissent. Yet too often, these voices have been met with indifference, selective outrage, or political convenience.

The international community cannot continue to champion human rights in one part of the world while remaining silent when allegations of abuses emerge elsewhere. Human rights are universal, not conditional. When activists, journalists, and peaceful advocates are punished for speaking on behalf of their communities, the credibility of the global human rights system is weakened.

For decades, Afghanistan paid a devastating price for proxy warfare, which many Afghans attribute to Pakistan’s support for armed proxy groups that fueled instability, extremism, displacement, and the loss of countless innocent lives. Today, as concerns grow over repression in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the world must ask itself: how long will accountability remain selective, and how long will suffering be ignored when it is politically inconvenient?

Today, the international community must ask itself: how many more voices must be silenced before meaningful action is taken?

We call upon the @UN, @amnesty, @hrw_espanol, @UN_Women and all international human rights mechanisms to closely examine this case, demand transparency, ensure due process, investigate allegations of abuses, and stand firmly against any form of political persecution.

Silence in the face of injustice is not neutrality, it is complicity. The people demanding dignity, rights, accountability, and freedom deserve to be heard, not imprisoned.
