After going to musical selichos for many years, and switching shuls, I went to a non-musical selichos (except for shema koleinu which had a tune) with everyone pouring out their hearts for forgiveness. And I could focus on the incredible words — not on any melody. The words and liturgy are incredible. Wish all Jews could experience this.

@jewishmemequeen This is a very good point. I do feel bad for those older guys without a tallis. This is a question for one’s Rav if in that situation and want to wear a tallis. I don’t think anyone would really care if a single person did.
