After a year's worth of research, speaking to countless people, hearing so many stories of lived experiences, challenges and triumphs, design jams, and writing, I'm proud to share that @youngontarians has just published our report covering how the pandemic has affected youth!🤩
Congratulations to our new 2019-20 Student Trustees, Michelle Chou and Nicholas Hamzea from @BayviewBengal! Michelle and Nicholas were sworn in at last night's Board meeting. We look forward to working with you over the next school year!
At last night's Board meeting, we bid farewell to our outgoing Student Trustees Bill and Allen. Your contributions and leadership over this past year have been exemplary as well as your commitment to your peers. We wish you all the best and thank you for your service!
Engaging speak by the Federal NDP Leader @theJagmeetSingh at @OSTAAECO about prevalent issues that students in Ontario are facing and some possible solutions to solve them
Mental illness and suicide disproportionately affect queer and trans youth in Ontario and across the globe. It’s incredibly important that the Minister of Education recognizes the specific discrimination of those students and denounces it directly. Especially today. #DayofPink
This is outrageous - why is our Premier in denial of his own actions
Every #StudentsSayNo protest that happened was CLEARLY ORGANIZED by STUDENTS THEMSELVES
Just a little snippet of my school’s walkout today. I don’t know how many hundreds of students came out (+ some engaged elementary students who joined us later) but I am so proud of everyone who stood up for their education!!! #studentssayno#onted
You can see OSTA-AECO’s Public Affairs Coordinator, Lindsey Keene, on @TheAgenda tonight at 8 and 11 p.m. to discuss recent changes in education. #OntEd#OnPoli
1. We should respect the autonomy of school boards when it comes to regulating the usage of technology. How would this be enforced?
If the government isn't able to provide other devices for students to use in the place of their phone, then they shouldn't ban them to begin with.
1 Billion dollars ripped from education while teachers and students were on march break.
Fewer teachers in schools and their specialized programs will die as they retire. Important funds like Local Priorities which gave school boards flexibility eliminated.

This signing you're putting out only reinforces the sheer bias of your survey. Where do I sign to say I disagree? Oh it doesn't exist? And this is representative of public opinion?
Even your consultations in 2018 were not transparent and had highly biased questions!
Our PC Government led the largest ever consultation on education in Ontario's history. 97% said that cell phones are distracting in the classroom. Do you agree? Sign here: https://t.co/swd05Z4Iq7
Our Government continues to put more money in people’s pockets by fixing our outdated procurement process. When we centralize how the government buys things, we will save a $1 billion a year, helping us to protect our core services like health care and education.
We've heard from parents, teachers and our labour partners. I'm pleased to say we've listened. We are aligning our class sizes with other jurisdictions across Ontario, while protecting our youngest learners. #EducationThatWorksForYou
An intriguing approach to refining education for students at my high school - I'm interested in seeing how effective this will be in the long run

Amazing Datathon organized by the team at @acorntalent_io!! It was an amazing opportunity to learn and experiment with applications of big data in the industry #callofdata
Hey everyone! I'm currently writing a research paper regarding ethics surrounding Facebook's data policy and its usage of big data. Please help me out by filling out this survey quickly! Thank you :) https://t.co/dPr7EWNJF1
