@SDembraski I'm a low daily mileage guy. Mine's usually set to 60%, unless I know I'm going somewhere further away. If you look at the charging slider on the main display, you'll see that the daily recommended charge setting ranges from 50 to 80%.
@JoeTegtmeyer@Tesla Thanks, @JoeTegtmeyer - we often feel like second-class Tesla citizens over here, compared to you guys... Nice to have a reputable supporter for our cause!
@SawyerMerritt "We will not raise horses that are ready 24/7. We want the people to get up 2 hours earlier, not have instant convenience. We want reigns, and a man or woman behind the reigns. Otherwise, why buy a horse?"
@TSLA_inside_ Looks to me like a standard software update, not an FSD update. Unless I'm missing something? I'm in Spain, still waiting on FSD, but I'm on 2026.20
@FloridaBartley@elonmusk@MarioNawfal Although Tesla are heading towards a world where Cybercabs need automated cleaning and charging stations wherever they operate, so I guess it wouldn't be that different... I dunno. The jury's still out for me.
@FloridaBartley@elonmusk@MarioNawfal But for most use cases, charging at home is the better solution. Battery swap stations are expensive to produce, and there aren't enough of them, especially outside of urban areas. As others have said, Tesla considered it, but then decided against it.
@SomeUKTeslaGuy@TeslaJigsaw I don't think the price will remain fixed for the next 5 years. If unsupervised lands in the next 12 months, the price may double, in which case my purchase will offer much better value and a shorter payback time than 5 1/2 years.
@BernardWei@TeslaJigsaw Having researched Tesla for years before buying, I made sure that my insurance policy includes a complete refund of my β¬7500 FSD purchase if my car is written off.
@TeslaJigsaw ...although now, with FSD becoming sub only, that may not strictly be possible. Still, I'll get β¬7500 back in my pocket, which I can spend on the β¬99 per month sub. The big advantage of subscribing vs owning is that you can simply move the sub over to a new car when needed.
@firelegacy0@TSLA_inside_ In addition, if I write off the car in the first two years of ownership, I don't just get back the "current market value", I get the full replacement value, including FSD. Total cost: under β¬800 for the whole year, comprehensive cover... Spain rocks!
@firelegacy0@TSLA_inside_ I discussed this with my insurance provider, and they specifically stated the value of FSD on my policy, so that if my car is written off, I get back the cost of FSD in full.
