If Kevin de Leon was one of 30 council members and his salary was 85% of state assembly pay, he would have resigned by now. We need to graduate our representatives from the grassroots into the state, not the other way around.
@mikebonin@cd4losangeles@nithyavraman Real reform would also include City Ethics officially responding to complaints with full transparency. As it stands, they do not acknowledge complaints filed by candidates. It all goes into a black hole. Any results of investigations are also hidden.
👋 Hi, I'm Katie Hobbs.
I'm Arizona's Secretary of State and I'm running for governor against the most extreme GOP candidate in the country.
Every poll shows this race NECK and NECK.
Can you retweet this and help me reach 130,000 followers?
We got the assault weapons ban through the house this year. If we get a few more senators we can abolish the filibuster, get it through the senate and signed by the president. But we can't do that if you don't vote. So vote.
There is a lot of work ahead for the City Council to build back the trust of Angelenos — but the unwillingness of Kevin de Leon and Gil Cedillo to resign is a slap in the face to residents who deserve to move on from this shameful and abhorrent moment.

I worked for LA City’s 2021 Redistricting Commission & meddling from certain Councilmembers, like the last minute arrival of a map pushed by some in labor, constantly undermined the Commission’s efforts & voice of the people. This influenced our final recommendations to Council.
Daily News today mentioned my 30 x 24 Plan for 30 City Councilmembers by 2024. It's hardly a new idea, but with the energy of the new Candidate-Advocates currently running for office, we have an opportunity right now to make it happen. https://t.co/tstrWsAGn7
Before we add LACity Council seats;
1) Detach Judge salary from City Council salary;
2) Lock council salaries to -15% of State Assembly salaries;
3) NOW double the seats, but make sure each seat has no fewer than three NCs in each one. LA reps should rise from grassroots
@DavidZahniser “In the corrupted currents of this world, Offense’s gilded hand may shove by Justice, And oft ‘tis seen the wicked prize itself buys out the law, But ‘tis not so above.” From “Hamlet” - Los Angelenos (The Angels) have made their voices heard.
@LosCoalition @CarpendiCacoeth I have CPRA requests from years ago when Nury and Felipe sent staff during a paid workday to “oversee” (harass) a vote count in Norwalk. The city put me off for months and finally denied my request
I’m sorry @herbjwesson this is not at all cool but you’re sending people around to take down my lawn signs on Election Day I’ve been as friendly as I can be but to pull some crap like this on election day you’ve got… https://t.co/UiUHXMTT2S
