Trump’s DOJ just shut down a federal investigation into a coal company owned by Sen. Jim Justice, one of his closest allies, after it racked up tens of thousands of alleged violations for dumping dangerous chemicals into our waterways. A veteran federal prosecutor with 24 years on the job said he had never seen anything like it.  

The man who killed the case was Todd Blanche, Trump’s former personal defense lawyer and current Acting Attorney General. This is the same guy who just gave Trump, his family, and his companies permanent immunity from IRS audits. Now Trump wants the Senate to make Blanche’s appointment permanent too.  

Equal justice under law was never supposed to come with exceptions for the President’s friends.  

The pattern isn’t subtle: protect Trump’s friends, prosecute his critics, and get rewarded with more power. That is corruption, plain and simple. Todd Blanche must not be confirmed.

Follow the money on this one. It is rotten to the core.

The Pentagon just lent $620,000,000 to a tiny North Carolina startup called Vulcan Elements. The company is two years old.

It had fewer than 50 employees.

And three months before the deal was announced, Donald Trump Jr.’s venture firm quietly took a stake in it.

Here is the part the administration tried to bury.

Of the dozens of companies the Pentagon was weighing, Vulcan was the only deal initiated by a top White House aide. That aide was Peter Navarro, a close friend of Trump Jr. The order came down to move fast.

One official put it plainly: The call came from the White House. We have to get this done.

Staff worked late nights to push it through in weeks. Deals like this normally take many months of vetting. And when it closed, Vulcan’s valuation jumped from about 200 million dollars to roughly 2 billion.

A windfall for the investors, including the president’s son.

This is public money. Your money.

Routed through the Pentagon to enrich the president’s family and their friends. The Bush administration’s own chief ethics lawyer called it corruption we pay for.

And there is more coming.

A drone parts company Trump Jr. holds a stake in is also under Pentagon review.

This is not a one-off. It is a pattern. The president’s family is treating the federal Treasury like a private bank, and the bill lands on every taxpayer.

Pam Bondi wasn’t under oath today because James Comer and Mike Johnson have taken every step to neuter the Oversight Committee in service of Trump’s cover up of the Epstein Files.

Now Johnson is canceling votes on Tuesday because he’s lost control of his conference. Johnson claims Republicans are the “adults in the room” but they refuse to show up to work most days and when they do it’s to enable Trump’s crimes and corruption.

Today, U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro attempted to persuade a Grand Jury to indict me. This was in response to me organizing a 90-second video that simply quoted the law. Pirro did this at the direction of President Trump, who said repeatedly that I should be investigated, arrested, and hanged for sedition.

Today, it was a grand jury of anonymous American citizens who upheld the rule of law and determined this case should not proceed. Hopefully, this ends this politicized investigation for good.

But today wasn’t just an embarrassing day for the Administration. It was another sad day for our country.

Because whether or not Pirro succeeded is not the point. It's that President Trump continues to weaponize our justice system against his perceived enemies. It’s the kind of thing you see in a foreign country, not in the United States we know and love.

No matter what President Trump and Pirro continue to do with this case, tonight we can score one for the Constitution, our freedom of speech, and the rule of law.

President Trump’s post threatening to block the opening of a major new US-Canada bridge was filled with important omissions and misleading claims.

- Trump professed astonishment that the Canadian government would expect him to support the project. He didn’t mention that he explicitly endorsed the project in a 2017 joint statement with then-PM Trudeau, calling it a “vital economic link” and saying he looked forward to its quick completion.

- Trump, complaining about Canada, said “we should own, perhaps, at least one half of this asset.” But the state of Michigan already owns half of the bridge.

- Trump said, “I will not allow this bridge to open until the United States is fully compensated for everything we have given them.” But Canada paid for the entire bridge construction.

- Trump complained about a Buy American waiver Obama granted the project, then claimed the waiver let Canada “not use any American products, including our Steel.” But the waiver actually allowed Canadian and US steel to be treated equally in consideration for the project, and numerous Canadian officials and Republican former Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder say some American steel was indeed used. (Also worth noting the Obama administration said it was granting the waiver out of a “basic notion of fairness” because the project was a “unique circumstance…under which Canada is assuming all financial liability and risk for the construction.”)

🚨 BREAKING: Trump just threatened 100% tariffs on ALL Canadian goods.

Not 25%. Not 35%.

One hundred percent.

This is the most severe trade threat ever issued against a Five Eyes ally.

But here is what you are not being told:

Eight days ago, Mark Carney stood in Beijing’s Great Hall of the People and did something no Canadian PM had done in nine years.

He slashed Canada’s 100% tariff on Chinese electric vehicles to 6.1%.

He signed eight MOUs with Beijing.

He declared progress toward “the new world order.”

Four days ago, at Davos, Carney announced:

“The rules-based order is fading… is not coming back.”

Trump’s response today: “If Governor Carney thinks he is going to make Canada a ‘Drop Off Port’ for China to send goods and products into the United States, he is sorely mistaken.”

Note the word: “Governor.”

Here is what consensus is missing entirely:
USMCA Article 32.10. The “poison pill.”

This clause gives the United States the right to EXPEL Canada from the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement if Ottawa enters a free trade deal with a “non-market country.”

China is that country.

Canada just signed that deal.

Trump is not bluffing. He is triggering the clause that was designed for EXACTLY this scenario.

But go deeper.

In August 2019, Mark Carney stood at Jackson Hole and proposed replacing dollar dominance with a “Synthetic Hegemonic Currency.”

The exact phrase he used: “dampen the domineering influence of the US dollar on global trade.”

This is not a trade dispute.

This is a seven-year thesis being executed by a former Goldman Sachs partner who ran both the Bank of Canada and the Bank of England.

Carney is not improvising. He is implementing.

The strategic paradox Washington created:
Every action designed to force Canadian compliance is accelerating Canadian defection.

35% tariffs → Carney went to Beijing.

“51st state” threats → Carney signed eight MOUs.

USMCA declared “irrelevant” → Carney slashed EV tariffs.

100% tariff threat → Canada now has nothing left to lose.

The binding mechanism:

When you threaten economic annihilation against an ally, they do not become more compliant.

They become more diversified.

Trump did not push Canada toward China.

Trump DELIVERED Canada to China.

This is the signature failure mode of coercive hegemony.

It works until it does not.

And when it stops working, it accelerates the very outcome it sought to prevent.

That quota represents a beachhead.

Within five years, over 50% must be priced under C$35,000.
