The horrible track record of civil rights in the wake of abolishing slavery in such a way could also have been avoided.

Murder, by contrast to abortion, has always been seen as wrong and socially stigmatized. Abortion, on the other hand, has essentially been normalized and integrated into society at fundamental levels.

@ian_bruh1 Abolishing slavery is the way we tried to do led to 600,000 deaths in a Civil War and the worst civil rights campaign in American history.

Things work out, and hindsight is 20/20, but ‘abolition’ of abortion isn’t the route we need to try.
