We need a monetary system that serves our nation as a whole rather than those whose access to capital keeps our economy locked up from the vast numbers of people who can not get the money they need; for life support or capital to use to build an equitable economic structure.
It is abominable that while the wealthiest who are in control live in splendor, vast numbers of homeless people are living in absolute hellish conditions.
Trouble is, it's the same sad old story that has been the bane of civilization forever.
While it is unlikely to ever happen, especially at the 'national' level, people need to be able to work for themselves in community producing goods and services they elect from available options and distribute them locally.
Many people have made failed attempts to create local economies predicated on alternative local money systems and have not succeeded.
It is of major irony that we celebrate our "freedom" when the truth appears to be that we have lost the most important component of freedom: the freedom to cooperate with all the others who would choose cooperative venues over for-profit arrangements.
A look into any available dumpster outside of most grocery stores, in my limited experience, shows an incredible amount of wasted food in it and indicates to me that it is anything but scarcity leading to such waste--maybe the food is priced too high for many people these days. The discrepancy is more due to a lack of funds than a lack of products to purchase.
@ranchette1@SamaHoole It truly is heartbreaking, and extends to so much we've lost that mere grieving is not enough to compensate for all that has gone by the way.
@FrevertChris@ShannonJoyRadio Something is wrong about your take on history or else mine is. LBJ was not installed as president when JFK was assassinated; he assumed the presidency according to the rules of succession. Actually, you are wrong.
According to GROK, there are basically 195 countries in the world and 193 of them are members of the United Nations. There is real opportunity for world peace. Hasnโt the time come? Finally?
Yeah, we the people need to rise up and fight for a new system, right? Where do I sign up? My neighbors and I are all mad as hell and we don't want to take it anymore, then we all get to bed early because we've got jobs to go to in the morning.
Come to think on it, we had a good system, didn't we? What happened to it? Hey, the 4th of July is pending; get ready, get those firecrackers and bottle rockets and celebrate our freedom.
Our politicians do not lead us; good laws not heeded do us no good. We must continue the fight by not fighting, but living decent lives and teach our children right from wrong; it will take time, but if the whole shebang was overturned tomorrow, it would be right back to where it is today if people don't change their ways and continue to rely on their governments. At least, that's what I think I think.
Let me know what you think. Be nice.
When Twitter entered the picture, all those years ago, I signed up. I was not in the mood. Years passed, and now I feel like what I missed was much better than what Twitter has become. Still, I believe this platform could be transformed into something really remarkable if it can fulfill the role of bringing people together--people to people, person to person.
We can actually talk to each other through this platform and I will mourn its loss if it can not be saved.
Be kind.
@12SK7GT@newstart_2024 I'm of the same opinion, more or less. What about the possibility that a good leader stands in front of a lot of good people who attend to the leader's business of leading them to do most of the actual work?
@JaimeChaos@TrueOnX I just wanted to find out if other accounts on X might have been as confused as I was, that's all. No psyop. (Maybe check your spelling.) All in good fun, okay?
