7 years ago today, Kalief Browder died. At 16, he was falsely accused of stealing a backpack, charged with a violent felony & prosecuted as an adult. The judge set bail beyond what his family could afford. He suffered at Rikers for 3 years, incl. 2 in solitary. 1/8
