👏 23 Young Women Graduate from Sisters in Success Program at American Corner Kamenge 🇺🇸✍️🇧🇮👏

September 3 was a day of pride and celebration at the American Corner Kamenge, where 23 young women graduated from the Sisters in Success program. Over the past month, they immersed themselves in workshops on entrepreneurship, leadership, personal growth, career choices, arts, writing, and sexual and reproductive health; skills designed to help them build a brighter future.

The ceremony brought together participants, facilitators, and partners, with Jeffrey Cole, Public Affairs Officer at the @US_Emb_Burundi joining to honor their achievements. He praised the determination of the graduates, reaffirmed the Embassy’s support for the program, and urged the young women to keep believing in their dreams.

The celebration was filled with emotion. A heartfelt poem by one of the participants captured the spirit of resilience and sisterhood that defined the program. Facilitators reminded the graduates that the journey does not end here and encouraged them to support one another as they take their next steps.

Beyond empowering individuals, initiatives like SIS create safe spaces for young women during the holidays, offering them opportunities to grow, lead, and contribute to their communities. They also strengthen ties of friendship and collaboration between Burundians and Americans.

The day ended with warm smiles, group photos, and a sense of shared accomplishment, a reminder that these 23 young women are not just graduates, but future leaders in the making.

L’objectif est clair : outiller la jeunesse pour l’autonomie personnelle et l’auto-plaidoyer en matière de droits. Public speaking, networking, recherche avancée sur Internet, fact-checking, plaidoyer en ligne, mais aussi des sujets qui touchent à leur santé et découverte de talents cachés… iCAmp propose un apprentissage unique, absent du cursus conventionnel.

💡 iCAmp nous rappelle qu’une jeunesse outillée, c’est un avenir éclairé.
