The Indian government proposed a new framework to proposed digital competition framework, titled the Draft Digital Competition Bill, 2024.

In our policy comment to this proposed framework, @shreyas_nl and I argue that it is a heavy-handed, imposes arbitrary and ambiguous punitive obligations—which are yet to be completely known—on large digital firms, disregards sound competition law principles, and it's excessive penalties will stifle innovation and investment. It imitates the anti-big bias, and the flawed ex ante regulations of the European Union (EU) without considering India’s unique circumstances, policy goals, stage of development, and aspirations.

Not just as a policy lawyer but as a user of credit cards myself, enjoyed writing this article for @the_hindu on the RBI’s mandate for allowing choice of card networks to consumers. Will be exciting to see how this is implemented from Sep’24 onwards.

@ChdPol @DgpChdPolice - A person named Hardik Verma is running a scam in the name of BOI Fitness in Chandigarh. He takes advance money from customers for virtual fitness sessions and then disappears without giving the service, does not respond to calls and messages.
