संसद में भाषण के दौरान शाह ने नेपाल के कई मुद्दों पर चर्चा की तो अपनी सरकार की विदेश नीति का भी जिक्र किया। उन्होंने खासतौर से भारत के साथ विवादित मुद्दों को टकराव के बजाय बातचीत के जरिए हल करने पर जोर दिया है।
