What an amazing time at #Livexchange2019 Townsville hearing about the many jobs in Indonesia created by co-grazing cattle under Palm plantations. "This is not just about making money from animals, it is so much more than that"
Crowd still gathering for the official re opening of the Katanning Co-op. Congratulations to Peter, Adrian, Jill and the rest of the team on an incredible effort to revitalise this local business. Come and check it out after you vote!
Another @westaustralian well-balanced article, while the sector has immediately adopted regulatory changes-the sector has gone further & made additional changes-to provide leading animal welfare & an open & transparent sector #auspol#thesheepcollective

@amoeaba Absolutely, and so many isolated work places you work together and live together. No wonder so many find it hard to speak up or speak out about harassment even though it is so important
@Middleton_Says @avalindphotog Any double denim and cowboy hats @Middleton_Says? I was once told that was what a focus group identified as an 'honest farmer'
@FAotC Such an important perspective! The @woolinnovation https://t.co/spqq7yzNin program mentioned in this article and @meatlivestock https://t.co/zYviW8LMxI are great examples of indusrty and RDC work in this area
Thanks @SheepCollective for showing me around the Al Massilah today. As a farmer, it was good to see first hand the inside of the ship - the water, feed and ventilation in action, and to see the sheep in their pens on board. I hope others will take up the opportunity.
Today we welcomed @NationalFarmers Pres Fiona Simpson @afsnsw on export vessel bound for Middle East The most recent voyages on the Al Messilah have recorded success rates of unloading 99.8% of sheep & 100% of cattle, thanks RETWA & KLTT for making their export vessel available
@iamsuey @DebEdmonds60s @JimmiJai @Middleton_Says Hi Suey, our accredited contractor uses a harvestaire brand cradle. With most ewes you can tell are late stages of pregnancy, but some ewes, like some people you can't.
@DebEdmonds60s @JimmiJai @Middleton_Says @iamsuey Hi Debra, I think human error is the main cause. I tag many lambs on our farm and I know I get some wrong as someone else on the cradle double checks and tells me! The marking team wants to get the lambs marked quickly and back with thier mums. We need to continue to improve here
@DebEdmonds60s @JimmiJai @Middleton_Says Hi Debra, Mediterranean climate in WA is variable and we need to adjust to the feed that grows after the break if season, which is also variable. Pregnant ewes shouldnt be on vessels but pregnancy scanning isnt 100% accurate & sheep aren't scanned if incorrectly tagged as male
