Crime scene in #apbio. Accidentally bought the kit with dyes instead of DNA, but Ss still loved it. It also helped that one of the suspects kept popping in to say she didn’t do it. Love my colleagues @LCS_christian ! #teach180
Electrical circuits in physical science today with foil and
Christmas lights. I told them to make it interesting, and they took me seriously. #teach180
Students in #apbio checked out their replated transformed bacteria today. Then started stop-motion animations of replication, transcription, and translation. #teach180
Playing with 3D molecular models in preparation for Ss to make stop motion animations after break and then tested the sous vide to use as a water bath for the pGlo lab in #apbio#teach180
Walked through DNA replication (with a stand of DNA the length of our room, Ss then described it with chalk markers, and finally onto DNA extraction from 5 fruits and 1 veggie. #apbio#teach180
Trying to have more lab practical type questions on physical science tests...so the tests take up more room and some clean up is involved =). #teach180
@MsVanValen I did—it’s now copied to my cell cycle folder in Drive. =) There are so many activities available through HHMI that it helps to see what other people are doing instead of being overwhelmed with the breadth of what is available. Thanks!
