@kapethatisdecaf @inkfycreates this is why the story is ass. because the only time they can write about continuity is when the banners rerun. they will never opt for more developed and in depth storytelling if it means they can shoehorn a new product to sell. this forces the plot to accommodate for that fact.

Sunk Cost Fallacy + Addiction will do this to you. This is also exactly why I have concerns about newer gens growing up with these types of games with predatory practices. You need to play actual single player games to get a feel of what to expect/not expect in a gacha.
