Toyota (yes, the car company) is responsible for my dad’s sudden death. They’re not who you think they are. If you think they care for their employees, you’re wrong. They’re just numbers.
A thread. 🧵
Yes, I’m exposing my personal issues. But I’m sick of staying quiet.
Mangroves are MVPs (Most Valuable Plants)
Hundreds of species rely on mangroves for foraging, shelter, and nursery areas. Their arched root systems provide good cover for young animals, who spend most of their time hiding for protection.

Wow! What a photo. A cougar swimming in the water at one of Oregon's most iconic spots: Cannon Beach.
The Haystack Rock area reopened Monday after authorities concluded the cougar spotted on the rock on Sunday had left.

🚨BIRD UNION NEWS🚨
The National Labor Relations Board (@NLRB) has found merit to the Bird Union board charges and will issue a complaint against @audubonsociety detailing multiple violations of federal labor law—including failure to provide information.
It's swallow season!
While they're all sleek, the most vibrant swallow is the violet-green. They have a green back and iridescent violet rump in the right light. Their summer range spans from Texas to Alaska.

4. We have rarely seen @DrElizabethGray’s commitment carried out at the bargaining table. We as the Bird Union will do all we can to hold Audubon accountable to a higher standard and continue to fight for a culture of inclusivity in our union contract. https://t.co/yt4rM3Fb7B
3. Following the announcement, Dr. Gray assured staff that Audubon centers “equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging values in our programmatic work, as well as our internal operations.” But we have heard many empty promises and declarations from Dr. Gray before.
2. Their decision to double down on celebrating a white supremacist and to continue to brand our good work with his name actively inflicts harm on marginalized communities, including members of our union who for too long have been excluded from the environmental movement.
1. The @audubonsociety’s decision to keep the name of enslaver and white supremacist John James Audubon shows that the Audubon Board and CEO @DrElizabethGray have no interest in following through on their commitments to cultivate a fair and equitable workplace.
We named our union Audubon for All after our employer, the National Audubon Society. But Audubon was not for all. The organization is named for John James Audubon, a racist white man who enslaved at least nine Black people and supported “race science” and white supremacy.
Today, we are announcing that our union will no longer be named for John James Audubon. We will hold a vote to select our new name; in the meantime we will call ourselves The Bird Union.
