@meganshead There is no honesty in @meganshead comment. Daily aid is delivered. There is no cease fire becuase Hamas wouldn’t meet cease fire terms.
The West Bank isn’t under “lockdown”. It is however a disputed and occupied territory.
And antisemitic violent attacks are up worldwide.
On the other hand, in the bigger picture, the "armed struggle" narrative has been around for decades. What has it achieved except destruction and war? Let's say someone could go back to the 60s and say "how about not armed struggle, how about learning from the more peaceful struggles in history that led to rights and states?"
Let's say one could go back to the 1990s when Yezid Sayigh published 'Armed Struggle and the Search for State: The Palestinian National Movement, 1949–1993' and make it clear that the continued attacks by Hamas (which aimed to derail and destroy the Oslo process) would lead to disaster?
What has "armed struggle" brought? Nothing. In fact, at each point when peace was becoming possible, or Palestinians were advancing toward more self-governance and rights..."armed struggle" systematically destroyed everything.
It didn't help in the 1960s and 1970s...it got the movement pushed out of Jordan and Lebanon and led to war in both places. When the movement chose Oslo there was some hope, but Hamas emerged and weakened that through "armed struggle."
When Israel left Gaza in 2005...there was a chance to build and show that peace could produce more peace. Instead there was the kidnapping of Schalit and then the Hamas illegal takeover. All this did was lead to war...
It has also systematically destroyed any Israeli interest and sympathy for the cause of two states and peace.
Armed struggle actually achieved the opposite of every single thing it was intended to do.
The people that will sit up and talk about "Northern Ireland as an example"...well surely one thing that happened in Northern Ireland is that they did decide to end the "armed struggle"...they didn't decide to massacre hundreds of civilians in bus bombings and at a music festival.
The armed struggle concept is one that has systematically destroyed Palestinian aspirations and derailed everything. Bizarrely there are some who see it differently.
There is zero evidence it has achieved anything. Those who may say "well it got the movement noticed" in the 1970s...peaceful protest and non-violence like Gandhi or MLK would have achieved far more.
The most effective weapon against Israel has been redefining words until self-defense becomes the crime.
“Genocide” once meant the deliberate attempt to destroy a people. Hamas wrote that goal into its charter, yet the army fighting it is the one called genocidal.
“Apartheid,” “colonialism,” “occupation”—same method. Change the meaning and repeat the new one so many times it becomes gospel.
The only real "offense" to those fighting linguistic warfare is the very existence of the world's only Jewish state.
One of the most depressing aspects of conducting these council-by-council housing audits is the realisation that British taxpayers are being made to fund an extraordinary system of housing provision for people arriving from overseas.
The money is earned by British workers, collected through taxation, and then used to provide accommodation, welfare and housing for foreign nationals.
But it gets worse.
The government is not merely spending billions on asylum accommodation, Afghan resettlement and Ukrainian housing.
It is also providing councils with enormous capital grants to PURCHASE residential properties for these schemes. In some cases, councils are borrowing additional money to finance the acquisitions.
Think about the implications of that.
British people work, pay their taxes, struggle with astronomical rents, compete for scarce social housing and increasingly find themselves priced out of homeownership.
Meanwhile, their taxes are being used to fund dedicated housing programmes for people arriving from abroad.
In some cases, councils are even taking on long-term debt to acquire those properties.
This is not simply about immigration. It is about the priorities of the British state and the extraordinary redistribution of taxpayers' money towards housing provision for foreign nationals.
The more councils I audit, the more astonished I become at the scale of the expenditure and the long-term commitments.
This is deeply unfair on so many levels.
Hegseth: 80 “propaganda cells” quietly reappeared at 30 U.S. universities after Confucius Institutes were supposedly shut down. The Pentagon just dismantled every one of them.
On October 23, the Defense Secretary designated the Chinese government-backed programs and their rebranded successors as national security threats. He said they “came back disguised in new forms… with the same mission: to steal intellectual property and to infiltrate the minds of American students.” His closer: “No more, and never again.”
After 2019 funding cuts dropped the institutes from ~100 to a handful, many simply rebranded. In August the Pentagon ordered 30 schools—including Harvard, MIT, Georgetown, Cornell, and Duke—to cut ties to Section 1286-listed Chinese entities and the rebranded groups or lose research funding. By mid-October all 30 had complied, producing more than 80 termination actions.
The 2019 closures didn’t end it. This time every successor is being counted.

Isn't it amazing in a week where it was disclosed that up to 80 Civil Servants over the last few years had been embedded within the BBC News Rooms to help shape the news narrative in favour of the government that not one question was asked about it on the BBC's Any Questions?

Point. ⚜️
If someone asks you how much a single family's life is worth to the United States Navy, tell them the exact price: ten million dollars of steel.
On April 29, 1975, as Saigon fell, a tiny two-seat wooden-and-fabric Cessna plane with almost no fuel left circled desperately above the American aircraft carrier USS Midway.
Inside that tiny cockpit, a father named Major Buang-Ly had crammed his wife and five small children, including a baby. He scribbled a note on a map, wrapped it around his pistol so it would not blow into the ocean, and dropped it onto the carrier deck.
A young American sailor picked up the crumpled paper and ran it up to Captain Lawrence Chambers.
The note read: "Can you move these helicopter to the other side, I can land on your runway, I can fly 1 hour more. Please rescue me. Major Buang, Wife and 5 child."
The flight deck of the USS Midway was completely jammed from bow to stern with military helicopters. A Cessna has no tailhook to catch carrier wires, and its pilot had never landed on a ship in his life.
By every military regulation, Captain Chambers had been in command for only five weeks. Throwing millions of dollars of U.S. government aircraft into the sea without permission from Washington could end his career in a court-martial.
Chambers looked up at the tiny plane circling in the wind with five children inside. He did not call an accountant in Washington.
"Clear the deck," the captain ordered.
Hundreds of young American sailors in yellow and green jerseys ran to the edge of the ship, put their shoulders against massive Huey helicopters, and shoved ten million dollars worth of machinery straight off the cliff into the South China Sea.
Captain Chambers turned the giant carrier into the wind at twenty-five knots. The tiny Cessna came down, bounced once on the steel runway, and rolled to a safe stop with feet to spare.
When the cockpit door opened and five small children stepped out onto the deck, three thousand American sailors roared so loud it drowned out the engines, and immediately passed around a hat to collect cash for the family's new life in America.
When the math says a child's life is too expensive, an American throws the math into the ocean.
Hamas condemns one shooting, cheers another, hours apart:
Hamas on Friday called a deadly shooting at a church in Jordan's Karak Governorate a "crime," offering condolences to victims' families and prayers for the wounded. In almost the same breath, it celebrated a shooting near Hebron in which Palestinian gunmen killed two Israeli soldiers, calling it a "heroic operation" and calling for more while mourning the dead assailants.
Its statement urged everyone carrying a weapon to aim at the "chests" of soldiers and settlers, and called for any Palestinians in the West Bank with guns to use them to attack Israeli soldiers and civilians.
The contrast exposes how selective Hamas's moral language is. Gunfire at a Jordanian church is a "painful incident" deserving sympathy and healing; gunfire at Israelis is heroism deserving repetition, with no line drawn between soldiers and civilians.
Hamas's condemnation of violence depends entirely on who is being shot, and the Jordan statement reads less as a principled stand against bloodshed than as diplomatic maintenance with Amman, a government Hamas cannot afford to alienate.
This is the person @washingtonpost, @CNN, @IChotiner and others have been using as a source for the settler violence propaganda campaign, to be clear. Here he is describing the murder of two Israelis as a “surgical strike” that is “fully in accordance with international law.” The antizionist-captured media continues its nose-dive into irrelevance and self-delegitimization.
A completely immorally surreal scene in Lyon: France 🇫🇷
A woman begs the rioters to put out the fire they set at the entrance to the building where children are trapped because the firefighters are blocked further down the street by barricades they erected. The protester tells her, "I don't give a damn, we're young, we want rights."
A man can suffer because nobody wants him, and a woman can suffer because so many men want access to her that she can't feel safe. Both can become bitter, both can hurt people, and neither person's suffering automatically makes them a good person. Saying women know nothing about suffering because they've never experienced yours is just taking your own experience and assuming it applies to everybody. Knowing suffering firsthand doesn't mean you understand every form of suffering. Sometimes it just means you know your own.
No one is immune to the perils of life idk
I really feel like this.
Being able to access sex and attention isn't the key to happiness. Trust me lol
I don't subscribe to the idea that women always have life on easy mode. Imagine being a tiny pretty female and the whole planet full of giant, often obsessive, often creepy, often rapey men are around you playing the "can I penetrate you" game 24/7.
Can you see where that easily turn horrifying very fast?
When I lived out on the streets and was selling/addicted to drugs, a scenario I watched unfold many times was
>Halfway decent looking woman unfortunately homeless and addicted to drugs
>Man offers her "place to stay" , acts like he's doing it out of the kindess in his heart
>She takes offer, man tries to fuck her
>When man finds out she's not going to give him any pussy, throws her back out on the streets, turns nasty and hateful and takes back all the kindness and things he gave her
Many such cases with different variations, offering her drugs for pussy, a ride for pussy, pussy pussy pussy, it always comes down to pussy. And women get exhausted by this, and some men are so doggedly determined to get some pussy that it turns into rape.
There's a lot of good men who women destroy, both of us have our crosses to bear and our bad behavior patterns.
Like, being lonely sucks, not having access to affection and love and not being touched for years sucks.
But the opposite sucks too, invasion of privacy, constant bombardment
Psychotic ex boyfriends who won't leave her alone and she's physically incapable of fighting giant men off
And don't even mention the shit that many many women go through when they're just children.
A horrifyingly common story amongst women.
Pregnancy, the fact that her window is so short, etc etc
Women suffer incredibly, too.
And through suffering comes wisdom.
So this "women should shut up because they know nothing of suffering and how the world really works" sentiment is just wrong.
A lot of them knew how nasty the world was before we men ever knew suffering.
It's not even a coming from a simp perspective; I'm an anon account . What woman am I trying to impress and get pussy from by agreeing with her on here?
It's just putting yourself in other people's shoes .
My parents and religion have always emphasized the value of charity. So in my 20s, I started volunteering for an organization that helps people recently released from prison.
The men's stories were pretty bleak, but mostly what I expected. Low education, youthful stupidity, unstable homes, peer pressure.
But it was the women's stories that were so depressing I couldn't continue doing that charity work. They were almost all victims of childhood abuse, addicted to drugs given to them by an older boyfriend and/or pimp, and just relentlessly sexually victimized by parents, police, family, significant others, friends, clergy, and fellow homeless strangers to the point that rape was as routine and inevitable as the rain.
