Most Israelis remember Navi Pillay for her grotesque 2014 claim that Israel and the United States committed war crimes by refusing to hand Hamas the Iron Dome defense system.
As the UN’s top human rights official, she condemned Washington for funding the system that stopped Hamas rockets from killing Israeli civilians, while arguing Gazans deserved the same protection from the terrorists deliberately firing those rockets from among their own population.
A terror organization embeds in civilian areas, launches thousands of rockets at Israeli towns, and rejects every ceasefire. The UN’s response was to demand the side under fire surrender its only effective defense to the attackers.
Original footage and statements have been nearly impossible to find on YouTube, as the platform systematically filters and buries factual pro-Israel information.
@HillelNeuer@UNWatch@Ron_Prosor if you still have the 2014 video or archived statements, pull them from the archive. She just received the Nobel Peace Prize for that exact bias against Israel.
The world deserves to see it.
@hahussain I agree with most of this, but what about Operation Protective Edge in 2014? I know that was limited in scope, but the IDF went inside the outer edge of Gaza at the border. Are you not counting that as an invasion?
Spot on. It’s pure mission creep. Beyond the absurdity of a bridge charity funding anti-bridge activists, UK charity tax reliefs cost £7.4bn a year. Since these campaign groups clearly have cash to spare, why should working households pay 20% VAT on essentials while they get tax breaks to play politics? Time the Budget stripped their VAT exemptions.
@ChillinJalfrezi Barbara seems to think that our complaint is that what has happened is illegal (chronic lawyer brain).
That’s never been our complaint. I’m saying a terrible political decision was made and should be reversed.
“Take up arms… and do preemptive strikes wherever those preemptive strikes are needed”.
That sounds pretty much like incitement to violence to me @nottspolice
@nice_cuppa The people who have tried to pretend their anti-Zionism is not antisemitism seem to have got very upset at a report about preventing hate against Jewish children. Their mask slipped a long time ago but now they aren’t even pretending.
I have to say I find the lefts reaction to the Bell report so predictable it's almost hilarious. While they deny antisemitism is a problem in schools, people close to me are dealing with the realities of one of the most nasty cases of antisemitic bullying I have seen and a school
Teach Black children their history? ABSOLUTELY! But teach them ALL of it, not some carefully curated historical narrative designed to leave them perpetually angry, resentful, and convinced that their future is imprisoned by their ancestors’ past.
You want to teach them about slavery? EXCELLENT! Then let’s teach them about the African kingdoms and merchants who captured, enslaved, and sold other Africans. Let’s discuss the Kingdom of Dahomey, the Asante Empire, and the role African intermediaries played in the transatlantic slave trade.
Let’s teach them about the Arab slave trades, which operated across centuries, and the indigenous systems of servitude that existed in Africa before Europeans arrived.
And absolutely teach them about European colonialism, the Atlantic slave trade, the barbarity of plantation slavery, and the laws that systematically deprived Black Americans of their liberty.
But don’t you dare selectively edit history to manufacture an eternal racial grievance.
Let’s teach Black children about Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, Booker T. Washington, George Washington Carver, and the extraordinary accomplishments of Black Americans who refused to let oppression define the boundaries of their existence.
Let’s teach them that African history did not begin with slavery and that Black American history did not end with emancipation.
Let’s teach them about African civilizations, scientific achievements, entrepreneurship, intellectual independence, family formation, and the extraordinary resilience of our ancestors.
And while we’re examining historical culpability, let’s examine the American political institutions that defended slavery, enacted Jim Crow laws, and resisted civil rights. Let’s name the politicians, examine their party affiliations, and acknowledge how those parties and their coalitions changed over time. No selective amnesia for anybody.
Here’s where I fundamentally disagree with you.
You appear more interested in teaching Black children whom to resent than teaching them what they can accomplish.
My ancestors endured extraordinary suffering. Their suffering deserves historical accuracy, reverence, and remembrance. It does not require me to surrender my intellectual independence or teach my children that their destiny is controlled by people who lived centuries before them.
History should produce knowledge, not inherited animosity.
Teach the entire historical record, including the uncomfortable chapters that contradict your preferred narrative.
Because a child who knows only the atrocities committed against his ancestors knows only a fraction of his ancestry.
And that is an egregious intellectual disservice.
I will teach my children what happened to their ancestors. But I will also teach them who their ancestors WERE before captivity, what they accomplished afterward, and what they themselves are capable of becoming.
My God did not create my children to spend their lives shackled to the grievances of yesterday.
Teach history. Don’t manufacture helplessness.

Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo prays for America and Israel as he kneels and weeps in front of the mass grave of his own church members killed in Nigeria.
His prayer:
"Father, visit Trump - let him increase foot soldiers to come to Middle Belt. Use your power to bring out Benjamin Netanyahu to save us in Nigeria. Father, protect Israel from their enemy... bless America and Israel that would join to save us in Nigeria.
I want peace to reign in this country. Fight the battle that we cannot fight."
In 2009, two young Iranian women were sentenced to death by hanging for one reason: they had become Christians, and they refused to deny it.
Marziyeh Amirizadeh and Maryam Rostampour were born into Muslim families in Iran. After converting, they studied theology and returned home with a simple plan. Under cover of night, they put New Testaments into mailboxes across Tehran and other cities.
In less than three years they distributed about 20,000 Bibles and helped start secret house churches, mostly among women and young people.
Sharing the Christian faith is treated as a crime in Iran. Converts from Islam are not recognized as Christians. Only people born into recognized Christian minorities, such as Armenians and Assyrians, are officially allowed to practice.
Someone reported them. In March 2009 the IRGC arrested them. Officers asked if they were Christians. They said yes. Bibles were found in their apartment. They were charged with apostasy and promoting Christianity, and a judge sentenced them to death by hanging unless they returned to Islam.
They spent 259 days in Evin Prison in Tehran, a place known for torture and executions. They were interrogated for hours, threatened with hanging, and held in brutal conditions. They say they kept sharing their faith with other prisoners.
They did not know that Christians outside Iran had started a campaign for their release. Amnesty International and church groups pressed the case.
Pope Benedict XVI sent a letter to the Iranian government calling for them to
be freed. After nine months, the regime released them. They later left Iran.
Their account is told in the book
‘Captive in Iran’.
The poster is right about the 20,000 Bibles and the death sentence. It leaves out that there were two of them, and that they survived. The regime tried to silence them. It failed.
Iran still jails Christian converts for house-church meetings, prayer, baptism, and possessing Bibles, often under "national security" charges.
The law has not changed.
Bucha. It was a genocide, recognized by everyone. They buried hundreds of people. They tortured people. We found the grave. There were, I believe, around 500 people. When we liberated those towns near Kyiv, there emerged this, you know, this kind of hatred for the Russians, right at that moment. Not even at the moment when they started the full-scale war. Back then nobody understood what it really was yet. People understood what this war was and what Putin did personally when we found those mass graves of tortured adults, children. I mean they didn't just kill them, they tortured and killed them.
When we liberated Bucha, I said, bring every journalist here. Don't touch anything, just bring the journalists. The whole world simply has to see this. Imagine finding a mass grave in the U.S. or in Britain, God forbid, with 500 tortured people, adults, kids, dogs, animals shot dead. I mean, they held hunting sprees there from military vehicles. People were running, they were shooting, just hunting, playing games. They literally just played with people, like slavery. So how, after this, can you listen to Putin? And how, after this, can you forgive?

Palestinian reporters and otherwise Islamist writers and editors working for Reuters and trained in the far-Left media giant's unscrupulous propaganda methods cram so many insidious rhetorical devices into a single article, engage in so many ethical violations of Reuters own journalism handbook in an effort to dupe readers, I am now employing Grok to identify and tally all of them.
Here's Grok summarizing Reuters' artful deceptions in just a single story on the upcoming Israeli elections, edited by their Jerusalem Bureau Chief, Palestinian Rami Ayyub and British Muslim convert Tom Perry:
Propaganda techniques (≈14–16 instances):
Card stacking / omissions (multiple clustered instances): Emphasis on Palestinian living conditions in Gaza (“mainly in tents or damaged buildings”), “rapid expansion” of settlements, settler attacks, and government “turned a blind eye,” while omitting or minimizing Oct. 7 atrocities and remaining hostages in detail, historical Palestinian rejection of prior offers, security rationales for Israeli control and presence in disputed territory, comparative Israeli civilian impacts, or fuller context on why both candidates prioritize security control. The lead frames policies that “have hampered a decades-old peace process” without equivalent Palestinian agency or rejectionism.
Asymmetrical definition / loaded language (≈6–8): Repeated “occupied West Bank,” “occupied Palestinian land,” “territory Israel captured in a 1967 war,” and “a practice nearly all countries consider illegal under international law, although Israel disputes this.” These present a contested legal/political status (Israel rejects the applicability of certain occupation-law transfer prohibitions and views the territory as disputed) in near-consensus framing. Additional loaded phrasing includes “hampered,” “rapid expansion,” and “repudiates the ‘two-state solution.’”
Assertion / innuendo (≈3–4): “policies that have hampered a decades-old peace process”; “In a sign of how far Israeli politics has shifted to the right”; presentation of critics’ “blind eye” claim without balanced counter-context.
Pity / atrocity-adjacent framing (≈2–3): Gaza population description and settler-violence emphasis evoke suffering without parallel scale or context for the other side.
Logical fallacies (≈5 instances):
Appeal to pity (≈2–3): Gaza tent/damaged-building description and implications of settlement/settler impacts.
Appeal to authority (≈1–2): “Nearly all countries consider illegal under international law” as near-definitive, with Israel’s dispute secondary.
Causal / post-hoc elements (≈1): Attribution of peace-process stagnation primarily to Israeli policies.
Reuters Handbook / Trust Principles violations (≈9–11 instances):
Always strive for balance and freedom from bias; take no side / tell all sides (overarching and multiple specific): Title, lead, and structure center Israeli policies as the variable affecting Palestinians rather than mutual dynamics; selective emphasis on Palestinian grievances and international consensus language over equivalent security, historical, or rejectionist context. Both candidates’ shared opposition to a Palestinian state is framed as a rightward repudiation of generations of negotiations.
Loaded expressions (≈4–5): “Occupied,” “hampered,” “rapid expansion,” “blind eye,” “repudiates.”
Guard against putting opinion in a news story (≈2): Judgmental framing such as “how far Israeli politics has shifted to the right” and “effectively repudiates.”
Social responsibility / completeness of facts (≈1–2): Incomplete picture via the omissions noted above.
Allegations not portrayed as fact: International-law consensus language is strong relative to the acknowledged Israeli dispute.
Totals: Approximately 28–32 discrete reporting/ethical failures across the categories (propaganda ≈14–16, fallacies ≈5, Handbook ≈9–11).
Reuters: All propaganda, all the time.
Really? There are videos of Israeli soldiers EXECUTING children, and those videos have never been shared online or by any media organization, but you “had to watch them”? Why don’t you point the world to all those videos so we can settle the debate once and for all? I’m sure South Africa would LOVE to have those videos entered into evidence against Israel. By not sharing them with the world, you would be responsible for helping such crimes continue. So, where are the videos, Alonso?
And your reply "Yes Hamas commits war crimes" isn't remotely an answer as to why you ignore such crimes, it is a poor and weak acknowledgement of obvious facts. So I ask again, why do you ignore Hamas and other terror organizations abusing children into jihadi mass murder and suicide?

Turkey is illegally occupying Cyprus. Pakistan was carved out of India by the same logic now used against Israel. Egypt occupied Gaza from 1948 to 1967 and never created a Palestinian state there. Saudi Arabia has been intervening in Yemen since 2015, producing one of the worst humanitarian crises on earth. Israel is a sovereign state on historically Jewish land.
Facts matter.
@RFHanrahan@Palestinia12961 The orders to leave are part of a crackdown on terrorism in Judea. This is happening as a result of an attack from Judea that killed two soldiers and wounded three other people. It genuinely sucks for the innocent people forced from their homes, but Israel has provocation.
