Inspiration

Giving thanks and making God's deeds known can begin by naming the care we have received through another person. A specific thank you tells someone their quiet effort was seen. It also turns praise outward, reminding us that we are not sustained by our own strength alone. Today, recall one kindness you can acknowledge without exaggeration or making the person uncomfortable.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the people whose care has helped me. Open my eyes to work that happens quietly around me. Help me express appreciation plainly, without using praise to gain favor. Let remembering Your goodness make me more generous in noticing others. Amen.

Inspiration

God loved us so much, when we were still sinners, that He decided to give up His son so that we could be saved. Jesus Christ endured all the pain and the suffering, so that we could be redeemed from our sins. Jesus had every single person, past, present and future, in mind when He chose to make that sacrifice. This is why we are able to identify as children of God. This is why we have eternal life.

Prayer

Dear God, I thank you for your Son, Jesus Christ, and the fact that He is the reason I have been saved from eternal damnation. Thank you, Father, that I am justified and redeemed thanks to your Son. Were it not for your great act of love, Lord, I fear to think of where I would be. Thank you, Lord, that there is a future I do not need to worry about. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Inspiration

Jesus asks the Father to sanctify His disciples through truth. Truth is therefore more than a weapon for correcting someone else; it is God's work within us. Before forwarding a rumor, repeating a complaint, or explaining another person's motives, we can ask whether our words are true and loving. In close relationships, honesty also means naming our own fear instead of disguising it as certainty about someone else's intentions. God's word can expose the stories we tell to keep ourselves innocent. Being set apart by truth may begin with a quiet correction: admitting that we misunderstood, that we exaggerated, or that we have not heard the whole account. Such humility does not weaken truth. It gives our speech a better foundation than the need to appear right.

Prayer

Father, let Your truth work first in my own heart. Reveal the assumptions I have mistaken for facts and the excuses I use to avoid responsibility. Help me speak clearly without humiliating anyone. Give me patience to hear the full story and courage to correct my own words. In difficult conversations, make honesty an expression of love rather than a display of power. Amen.

Inspiration

Face-value, earthly things will never hold a substantial amount of value. We live in a world that is more concerned about how people look, how much money they have, and the kinds of material goods they possess. All of these things will fade away with time. The thing that will remain in people's minds for a very long time will be our characters and the virtues we possess. Men and women of God need to ensure that their characters and their virtues are godly.

Prayer

Dear God, I pray that I never become caught up in the things of this world. I know that things like physical appearance and money are fleeting; they will not last an eternity. But the things that come out of my heart will. Lord, may my heart be a reflection of your light. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Inspiration

Paul's invitation to pray for all people includes those whose decisions frustrate or frighten us. Prayer for leaders is not approval of everything they do; it places our anger and concern before God rather than letting them harden into hatred. The quiet, peaceable life named here has room for honesty as well as calm. In a family discussion about public events, love may look like asking why someone is afraid instead of assuming why they disagree. We can challenge harmful actions without treating people as disposable. Intercession widens our concern beyond our own circle, including neighbors who carry the consequences of decisions we never notice. A peaceful conversation begins when another person's life matters more than our chance to win the debate.

Prayer

God of all people, receive my concern for those in authority and those affected by their choices. Give leaders wisdom, restraint, and regard for vulnerable lives. In my own conversations, keep anger from becoming contempt. Help me listen to fears I do not share and speak against harm without delighting in hostility. Teach me to pray for people I struggle to understand. Make me attentive to neighbors whose need for peace is immediate and practical. Amen.

Inspiration

Millions of thoughts fly through our minds, day in and day out. A number of these thoughts excite us. Some of these thoughts unnerve us. But when our thoughts dwell on God and who He is, we are filled with comfort and our hearts overflow with joy. God is the good that we should focus on. When we focus on Him, all other harrowing thoughts fade away and our hearts are filled with peace.

Prayer

Dear God, there are times when I feel anxious as a result of my thoughts. Sometimes, I feel discouraged. But when I focus on you, Lord, all fear and doubt fades away. I only find rest when I fix my eyes on you. Lord, may you help me remain focused on you, no matter what thoughts come my way. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Inspiration

Jesus carried our sins and suffered on the tree so that we could be forgiven. Jesus Himself was not to blame; God and Jesus are perfect, but God so loves the world that He gave His only begotten son. It could have been stopped at any moment if either of them wanted to, but the lesson that we have learned because of Jesus' suffering was essential. With His pain our sin is forgiven. All we can do is live righteously and attempt to pay the debt back in a small way.

Prayer

Holy Father, the one and only God, You gave Your son to us although we did not deserve him. We scorned him, tortured him, and he died for our sins. This sacrifice is hard to even fathom, and I am forever indebted to You for it. Lord, forgive me for not remembering the importance of the message of Christ. His pain and suffering are debts that I shall try to pay my entire life through service to You, majestic Lord. In the name of Your son, Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Inspiration

God is our refuge; He is our place of rest and security. As children of God, we have total assurance of our security because God is our Father and the promises He has made to us are eternal. God has promised to keep us from the wiles of the enemy and see us through the challenges and temptations of life. His Word, the Bible, is filled with these assurances so that we never forget about how faithful He is.

Prayer

Dear God, I am grateful that I can find my rest in you. There is no one else and nothing else that can give me peace and protect me, the way you do, Father. Thank you for always being faithful in your promises, Lord. I have every reason to put my trust in you and I will never forget that. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

The Lord will always draw close to and mend the broken-hearted. God doesn't delight in seeing his children being in pain or sorrow. It pains him just as much as it pains us. When He hears our cries, He rushes to our aid. He comforts us, he heals us, and he helps us get back on our feet.

Prayer

Dear God, I am so grateful that I can turn to you – in good time and in times where it feels like I cannot keep going. Lord, thank you for always hearing my cries. When I am faced with painful situations, I find comfort in knowing that you are always with me. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Inspiration

At the time it was written, shepherding was a very common activity. Sheep are nearly defenseless against predators, and they scare easily, especially in groups. Let the Lord be your shepherd and guide you to more tranquil places. He will lead you on the right path if you are willing to follow. Think of the consequences for a sheep: follow and be protected, eat, rest, and survive or stray and be alone, starve, fear, and die. The choice is easy.

Prayer

O Lord my Shepherd, I shall not want. All I have needed thy hand hath provided. You have protected me, acting as my rock and shield against all evil. Alas, courageous God, I have sinned, allowing evil to enter my heart even whilst You stood guard against it. Forgive me for this, and know that my pure love for You shall not wane. I pledge all of this in honor of my service to You and Your son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Inspiration

When we fix our minds of the goodness of God, it enables us to rise above the afflictions and the troubles we may face. Whenever he was in times of great trouble, Paul resorted to praising God, and in that praise, he found strength. Praise brings about joy, and the joy of the Lord, Jesus Christ, is our strength.

Prayer

Dear God, there are times where I may feel weak or I feel that I may not be able to carry on. But whenever I choose to dwell on your goodness and who you are, Lord, my heart is glad. I find strength when I think of your faithfulness, Father, and I ask that you will continue to encourage me when times get tough. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

What is it that you think about when you first wake up? Your busy day? Spouse? Children? Work? Money? Or is it God? The teachings of our Lord and our Savior Jesus Christ have been passed down for thousands of years, and it is our duty to continue to pass the teachings and traditions down to future generations. He should be in our minds with everything we say, do, and even think. With God as the stronghold of your life, of whom shall you be afraid?

Prayer

Be present in my mind, O Lord, my stronghold against all evil. I shall worship You with all of my days, keeping Your love in my heart every moment that I am alive. Impress on me Your values so that I may impress them on those that come in contact with me. Forgive me for not always keeping You in mind, even doubting You, whilst You never abandoned me, carrying me when I was weary. I pray these things in Jesus' name, Amen.

Inspiration

Our bodies are referred to as the 'temple of the Holy Spirit' because the Spirit of God resides within us. That means we need to treat our bodies with the love and respect they deserve. In everything we do, let it be honorable. May the things we do with our body glorify God and not counter His ways. We are not to become one with the ways of the world, but rather, we are to let our minds be transformed so that we are in line with Christ.

Prayer

Dear God, I pray that I will always take my body for what it is – a vessel for your glory. May my actions be a reflection of your glory, Lord, and never of darkness. Father, I ask that you help me remain indifferent to this world as I choose to follow you and not what is deemed "popular opinion" by the world. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Inspiration

Paul's message here is one of my favorites in the Bible: instead of thinking of the old decrees telling you what NOT to do, think instead of what you SHOULD do. "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." An important aspect that is often overlooked is whether or not you love yourself. Not causing harm to others and trying to love other people makes it much easier to love yourself. Leave everything else to God!

Prayer

Abba Father, I have forgotten this simple message more times than I could count. I have transgressed against enemies, strangers, friends, and family, often doing so out of selfish pride. Forgive me for these sins, my Lord! I am asking, God, I am knocking and ask that You open the door for me. I am thankful for every moment that I have with You, my rock and my strength. Amen.

Inspiration

It is strange that we often hold back our true feelings for our most precious loved ones. Sometimes it can be a huge regret to us, not saying how much we love and appreciate someone until it is too late. Give thanks to God for good friends and family, and give thanks to them as well. A little love like that goes a long way.

Prayer

I am so glad that I have You in my life, O Lord. Thank You for bringing so much hope and light into my life through friends and family, brothers and sisters in Christ. Let me be full of light for them as well, and let our light shine brightly in the darkness. I ask these simple things in the brightest light of all, Jesus Christ, who died so that we could live. There is nothing that is of the devil that we should consider as an object of our desire. The things of the world, which are ultimately of the enemy, are an abomination in the Lord's eyes – this is because they are contrary to the ways of God. Stay away from evil influences and remain rooted in the word of God, it will save you from much trouble and even death. God has called us to live a much higher life.

Prayer

Dear God, I pray that my eyes will always remain focused on anything that concerns you. I am aware of the evil in this world and no part of me desires to be a part of such. Help me to remain in your ways, Lord. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Inspiration

As it says in James 4:10, "Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up." Does being first matter when there is everlasting life awaiting us? If you want to be first, Jesus says, it is not about being ahead of others or above them. It is about wanting to serve EVERYONE. Being the last person to want to be ahead is the only way to finish first in the Lord's eyes.

Prayer

I am Your servant, God. I am everyone's servant. I ask that You strengthen my patience, humility, and desire to help others. Forgive me for wanting to place myself above other people. I know this is wrong and I pray that You help remember the place that I truly want: next to You, my God, and Your son, Jesus Christ, in heaven. Amen.

Inspiration

Thanks to Jesus Christ, we are no longer strangers or foreigners to the word of God. We have been accepted into God's family, being identified as His children. The Bible even takes it further to define us as "Born of God". That is how deep our identity in Christ runs – we are coheirs with Him. We no longer live in isolation, being subject to the wiles of the enemy. We are safe in the Father's arms, for the rest of the days of our lives and beyond.

Prayer

Dear God, I am thankful because I am a part of your family, now. Lord, I am grateful that the enemy can never do anything that will pluck me out of your hands. This salvation is eternal and always here to stay. Father, thank you for loving me so much, when I should have been unworthy, and accepting me into your family. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
