Asked Cameron Brink about the physical battle and emotions between herself and NaLyssa Smith that saw them tagged with double technicals: “I mean, what do you want me to say? It’s a physical game. I’m not afraid of anybody. That’s all I’m gonna say. I’m not afraid of anybody.”
@LASparks Why not include all the fans?? Some of us have been around since day one. Look at all those empty seats! Honestly all the fans are important, stop playing favorites!! @MagicJohnson@NatalieAWhite10@LASparks
The 2026 WNBA draft was a huge success for my Los Angeles Sparks. South Carolina’s Ta’Niya Latson was a steal in the second round. She is a first round talent having led the nation in scoring while attending Florida State University averaging 25.2 PPG.
Ohio State’s Chance Grey is another outstanding guard who can shoot. She shot over 40% from the three point line this past season.
Last but not least, Amelia Hassett is a 6-4 shooter that plays the PF position from the University of Kentucky.
All three of our picks can shoot from beyond the arc, understand winning and have a winning mentality (they all made the NCAA Tournament this year), and they’ve all been well coached from greats like South Carolina’s Dawn Staley, OSU’s Jackie Hoyt, and Kentucky’s Kenny Brooks.
Latson will be playing with a chip on shoulder because she was drafted in the second round and I believe she will make an immediate impact on the Sparks.
Ariel Atkins on her arrival to #LASparks : “I’m super excited for this next chapter with the Los Angeles Sparks. From the culture to the vision, everything about this opportunity felt right. I can’t wait to get on the court, bring my energy, and be a part of something special.”
