Heartfelt thanks to @Agasyedmuntazir Sb for taking up the concerns of J&K’s Agriculture Graduates and formally raising the matter with the Agriculture Minister.
We now earnestly request agriculture Minister @JavedDar_NC Sb and Hon’ble @CM_JnK @OmarAbdullah Sb to intervene and address the long-pending recruitment issues, particularly the concerns arising from SRO-442 and SRO-433, and restore a fair and transparent recruitment framework.
Our demands remain clear: Revoke the unjust provisions of SRO-442 & SRO-433, streamline the recruitment rules, and ensure referral of vacant gazetted posts to the recruiting agency.
We seek justice, fair recruitment and a time-bound roadmap for the Agriculture Graduates of J&K.

Agri graduates hold candlelight protest over recruitment

Sopore: Unemployed agriculture graduates associated with SKUAST-K, Wadura, held a candlelight protest on Thursday as their agitation over recruitment opportunities continued for the fourth consecutive day.

The protesters told that the candlelight protest was aimed at drawing attention to their demands for regular recruitment, filling of vacant posts and a clear recruitment calendar for agriculture professionals in Jammu and Kashmir.

The protesters also sought a review of SRO-442 of 2017, which changed the recruitment structure for Junior Agriculture Extension Officer posts by making them promotional. “It has been 20 years since any recruitment advertisement was issued,” a protesting graduate said.

The graduates urged the Jammu and Kashmir Government and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to intervene and initiate a dialogue with their representatives.

DAY 6. THIS IS NO LONGER ABOUT WAITING. IT IS ABOUT ACCOUNTABILITY.
We have stood in the streets peacefully. We have raised the issue repeatedly. We have given the administration enough opportunity to respond.
Now the question is simple:
Who will answer for the years lost by J&K’s Agriculture Graduates?
A department cannot function indefinitely without fresh recruitment while an entire generation of qualified graduates watches its age limits expire and its hopes disappear.
We are asking for answers, not assurances. A roadmap, not silence. Recruitment, not another year of waiting.
