Rt. Hon. President Mr. Ramchandra Paudel @oop_nepal and First Lady Mrs. Sabita Paudel had a State call on His Majesty the Emperor Naruhito and Her Majesty the Empress Masako at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo today.
During the call on, while cherishing the historic 70th anniversary of the establishment of Nepal-Japan diplomatic relations, views were exchanged on various aspects of the bilateral relations marked by a deep sense of friendship, goodwill and cooperation.
Rt. Hon. President Mr. Ramchandra Paudel @OOP_Nepal attended this evening a special reception hosted, on behalf of the Government of Japan, by the State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan @MofaJapan_en, H.E. Mr. Horii Iwao, in Tokyo to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Nepal–Japan diplomatic relations.
Addressing the function, the Rt. Hon. President expressed happiness over the cordial and friendly ties between Nepal and Japan, founded on mutual respect, trust, understanding, and cooperation.
The president noted that Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha, serves as a strong bridge to further strengthen relations between the peoples of Nepal and Japan.
The president further expressed gratitude to Japan for its continued support in developing Lumbini as the fountain of world peace.
Urging greater Japanese investment in priority sectors of Nepal; such as manufacturing, hydropower, tourism, services, information technology, mining, and agriculture, he also called for expanding cooperation in the tourism sector.
While extending warm greetings and best wishes on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Nepal–Japan diplomatic relations, the Rt. Hon. President expressed confidence that this milestone would be instrumental in elevating bilateral relations to a new level and paving the way for deeper and more fruitful engagements in the years ahead.
