We at Human Data Sciences are hiking 26 miles along the Wales coastal path in the Gower this weekend to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated πΆββοΈπΆπΆββοΈ

VIVA βοΈ big thanks to @CarolynAEmery@SteveMellalieu, Marianne Gittoes and of course my supervisory team @IzzyMoorePhD @VH_Stiles @gemRPhD. Something I'm sure I'll be proud of once my brain has recovered π€― (thanks @bc_robson for the graphics)
Not only is @IzzyMoorePhD an excellent PhD supervisor, she also has great cake baking tips that have resulted in this for my dadβs 60thβ¦ first time using fondant too π¬
Presented one of the chapters from the PhD at the #DRSymposium21 today, looking at team vs individual estimates of injury rates in professional Rugby Union - and even came away with a joint second place award for the 10 minute presentation π₯³π @CMetDR@KESS_Central

First virtual conference presentation βοΈ @bases2021. Presented one of my PhD studies looking at the probability of injury - nerves were still shaky even from the comfort of my own home π¬π€ͺ
After a few years of supervising PhD students I realise I try to figure out two things in each meeting:
1. How can I help the student
2. How can I make them smile & laugh
Sometimes achieving outcome 2 is also the way to achieving outcome 1

It's finally published! Read "An interdisciplinary examination of stress and injury occurrence in athletes" here: https://t.co/7o0QbvQsOf
Thanks to all the authors and everyone at @cardiffmet who was involved in one way or another!
