after winning 3 championships in 2016, lando was looking for an f3 seat. he wanted to race for prema and even tested with them, but they ended up rejecting him. instead, he signed with carlin and he went on to win the championship, ending prema's 5 year streak and dominating with:

• 8 poles
• 441 points
• title secured with 2 races to go
• 58 points ahead of the highest placed prema driver

es obvio que a mclaren en especial a stella les molesta que lando tenga su propia marca y que no sea solo reconocido por mclaren, empezando por el color, lando es más conocido por el color verde flúor que por el naranja del equipo.
Lando ya está dejando SU marca siendo co-fundador de un equipo de f3, f4 y próximamente f2, teniendo un programa para pilotos jóvenes, su propia merch, la marca LN4 en general

And if I say Stella’s (and a big part of McLaren) problem with Lando comes from the fact that he has such a distinct personal brand outside of McLaren, specially with everything he’s being doing outside of f1 recently. This is where the “no one is bigger than the team” comes from
