After 10+ years managing $20B+ portfolios at the World Bank, leading treasury at Ava Labs and the Avalanche Foundation, and earlier working on macroeconomic policy at the World Bank and IMF, I am focused on one mission: bringing revenue-generating businesses to Avalanche and growing the ecosystem.

The road ahead is challenging, but I'm rolling up my sleeves to help grow DEX volumes, project revenues, and ecosystem GDP.

The institutional era of cryptocurrency is evolving rapidly.

Stablecoins are exploding. They move trillions every year and are rapidly becoming the backbone of global finance. They rival Visa and Mastercard in settlement volume and are on track to surpass them. RWAs are thriving, merging with DeFi in ways we previously only dreamed of.

These innovations are the bridge between fiat and crypto. Stablecoins will become the settlement layer of DeFi. They are the clearest path to mainstream crypto adoption.

As stablecoins expand into payments, remittances, and even, one day, sovereign currencies, the foundations that enable them must evolve. The industry and its partners need speed, predictability, compliance, and connectivity.

This is what sets Avalanche apart.
Avalanche delivers fast finality, low fees, and decoupled horizontal scalability without compromising on the most core tenant of our movement, decentralization. Most importantly, Avalanche introduces custom Layer 1 blockchains with native interoperability: sovereign chains built for specific use cases, natively connected to the wider Avalanche network.

Avalanche Layer 1s allow institutions to embed compliance and KYC at the protocol level. Payment providers can optimize for performance, their most critical design constraint. Central banks can configure specially tailored monetary policy. And because of Avalanche Interchain Messaging (ICM), all these diverse Layer 1s can interoperate seamlessly with one another and thus with public permissionless DeFi applications as well.

The direction our world is heading is clear: stablecoins will soon surpass credit cards in settlement volume, CBDCs will launch on blockchain networks, and many institutions will choose to operate their products, markets, and rails on Avalanche Layer 1s.

Stablecoins and institutional adoption are the most powerful forces in crypto today and Avalanche is the infrastructure purposefully built to carry them into a future where global finance runs onchain.
