There are alarming reports of settler violence coming from the occupied West Bank: the demolition of homes, relentless expansion of illegal Israeli settlements, ongoing displacement of Palestinians, the threat of an attempted annexation that would – like the decades-long occupation – have no legal validity.
The risk of making a two-State solution impossible – when there is no other viable option.
And throughout, the presumption of impunity.
These injustices must stop.
Countries must comply with all their obligations under international law.
No exceptions.
A Palestinian father in Hebron has buried his seven-month-old son after the baby was killed by Israeli gunfire directed at the family’s car.
The shooting, which also wounded the parents, is the latest deadly incident amid escalating Israeli violence in the occupied West Bank.

New footage obtained by B’Tselem uncovers the moments when the Abu Haikal family was shot. Seven-month-old Sam Abu Haikal was killed in the shooting, and both his parents were injured. The footage clearly shows that the Israeli soldier fired at the car as it was slowing to a stop. The car was far from the soldiers and posed no danger to them whatsoever.
Moments later, in another video obtained by B’Tselem, seven-month-old Sam’s father, Fahed, is seen just after his son was shot. Fahed is holding baby Sam in his arms, trying to stop the bleeding from his head with his hands, while Sam’s mother, Daniyah, who was also injured by the gunfire while holding her son, is seen sitting on the ground, next to the car.
Last Friday, 5 June, an Israeli soldier fired at a Palestinian family driving home from a family visit, as they sat in their car in the Tel Rumeidah neighborhood in Hebron. The family was shot as the car was slowing to a stop at the soldier’s command. Sam, a seven‑month‑old baby who was in his mother’s arms in the back seat, was struck in the head and pronounced dead shortly afterward. Sam’s parents were also injured by the gunfire; his mother is still in the hospital. After the shooting, the soldier who fired and another soldier who was with him left the scene without checking the car or offering any assistance to the critically wounded baby or to his mother.
In the past two and a half years, Israel has killed tens of thousands of children in Gaza and the West Bank. The immunity it gets from the international community has led to a reality where, under Israeli rule, Palestinian lives are entirely disposable – even a seven‑month‑old baby.

The Israeli army shot dead a 7-month-old Palestinian baby in the West Bank.
It was in broad daylight.
The father says:
"I stopped as I was instructed to, and then they simply shot at the car."
Israel routinely kills babies - and the West is silent.
Israeli cabinet ministers openly talk about mass killings of civilians living in the suburbs of Beirut. They've already ethnically cleansed southern Lebabon and moved out a million people. But our governments say we will be punished if we are opposed to this ongoing genocide.
Israeli terrorists, like Isaac Herzog, are welcomed in the UK. They commit atrocities like the one below and the UK government treats them like royalty. But when we ask that Israel please stop attacking all its neighbors, taking their land and committing genocide, we're banned.
I’ve been banned from the UK. I tried to get on a flight to London to attend SXSW London and give a speech at Oxford. I’ve been banned for criticizing Israel. Are we free anymore? This is oppression of Western citizens by our own governments on behalf of a different country!
One of the most horrific scenes in human history has been revealed.
A video shows people trying to rescue an injured person and carry him to the hospital; Israel bombed them all and killed them with a missile.
A video the world must never forget.
If you see a fox in your neighborhood, be glad. A red fox eats roughly 2,000 mice, rats, and voles a year. They help keep tick-carrying rodent populations in check, which reduces local Lyme disease risk. Don't call animal control. Just watch.
