Concerning @nano privacy are there any downsides generating a fresh nano address for every new transaction? Except that wallets only index the first one by default instead of indexing the full stack?
@connyb@nano@nano doesn't support Bip44 but uses a different cryptographic algorithm (blake2b instead of secp256k1) to derive addresses. The worst part is that most wallet's use different key derivations. I am following the one on https://t.co/PMlpKO97rS like Nault, Cake and Nautilus wallet.
@XMRVoid Pro tip: stop measuring a projects success on it's fiat price and focus on utility.
What are you gonna post when it drops back down 10% tomorrow?
@TheDesertLynx@arcbtc Lightning is too heavily invested to call it quits, so now we have these extreme complex semi custodial solutions.
Disclaimer: I like the @lnbits tech.
@connyb@nano Nault indexes multiple accounts for native Nano mnemonics. Problem is with bip39 (one index at a time only) This defeats the whole idea of bip39 basically.
So it's a tradeoff between ledger bloat and privacy?
Right now i have to import my seedprase for every address / account index individually (nault)
That's a no go if you have hundreds of addresses / accounts. In Natrium you can add 'new account'. Still confusing and people might forget they have multiple accounts.
@alexjohnward@nano This would significantly improve privacy.
But users get confused when only the balance of their first address / account shows up in natrium or nault when they import their seedphrase.
Nano wallets should index the full account stack balance by default.
