What an excellent way to use AI!

We forget that before Henry Ford brought the Model T to market in 1908 well over 500 car companies had sprung up in America alone, making somewhere in the range of 2000 to 3000 distinct models of vehicles. It was the Wild West days of the automotive industry and it was anyone's guess who would come out on top.

It's exactly the same today in robotics. Seemingly every day a new robotics company is announced with a promise or with a prototype. The variety is huge and the field is wide open. I believe that the Steel Bot robot has just the right mix of features and performance specifications to be widely useful and to dominate in the market.

I'm working with all my being to bring it to fruition.

What a rotten deal we made with Iran. We get nothing (except laughter at our stupidity). They get everything, including delay and big cash!

Nobody’s ready for what this Stanford paper reveals about multi-agent AI.

"Latent Collaboration in Multi-Agent Systems" shows that agents don’t need messages, protocols, or explicit teamwork instructions. They start coordinating inside their own hidden representations a full collaboration layer that exists only in the latent space.

And the behaviors are insane:

• Agents silently hand off tasks based on who’s better
• Roles appear out of nowhere leader, executor, supporter
• Policies encode signals that never show up in actions
• Teams adapt to new environments without retraining
• Collaboration stays stable even when communication is impossible

The wildest detail:

Even when you remove all channels for communication, agents still cooperate. The “teamwork” doesn’t live in messages. It lives in the network.

This flips the entire multi-agent playbook.
We’ve been building coordination mechanisms on top…
while the real coordination is happening underneath.

A new era of emergent team intelligence is unfolding — and it’s happening in the places we weren’t even looking.

🇨🇳 CHINA BROKE THE SKY WITH 11,787 DRONES

Chongqing, China just pulled off the wildest drone light show the world has ever seen.

A jaw-dropping 11,787 drones lit up the night sky, setting a new Guinness World Record.

The drones moved together to create glowing shapes like a giant running kid and swirling clouds above tall buildings.

It looked more like a Pixar dream than something real.

Fireworks could never.

The advance of LLMs and other AI tools is a rare opportunity to radically upend the way we talk and think about software development, and change our industry for the better.

The way we have traditionally talked about software centers on writing code, solving technical problems.

I've been taking a break from work for the last few weeks, so missed much of the brouhaha over the McKinsey developer productivity article. But I'm sure that I could not write a better response than this one from @tastapod

The top PhD stipend in Ireland is €18,500, which is 22% below minimum wage (source: @PWO_Ireland)

For reference, that's about €1540 per month. The average rent in Dublin is currently standing €2324 per month. It is impossible for most to live here under these conditions.
