Effect of Global Terrorism & the Niger Delta Crisis
ABOUT THE BOOK - Dr. Baba J Adamu, PhD
This book provides a condensed comprehensive study of the terrorist phenomenon, orchestrated by so few, but affecting so many in Nigeria.
God created us from a single pair of male and female, into nations, races, and tribes so that we may cherish one another. In His Mercy and Wisdom, He gives us diversity in order to test our capacity for friendship and accentuates the need for unity and self-esteem...
Compassion can defeat indifference, intolerance & injustice, making no distinction between age, ethnicity, gender, disability, social class, religion or political affiliation. It embraces diversity with equal opportunity for all. It benefits both those who receive or provide it.
Fact, our society cannot function without compassion, which drives society to be inclusive & allow its members to be fully engaged in life. This makes human beings to care and help each other. It is the building blocks that make government more accountable and just to the people.
Both Islam and Christianity preach empathy and compassion; our cultures, all across, teach us to care and be compassionate but our actions are anything but.
To have sympathy, to care for one another, to do to others what you-want-done-to-you, to be emphatic; but some Nigerians seem incapable of doing that. The question is WHY?
Compassion is the bond that unites all humanity; and will unite us all as Nigerians. Sadly, it is far too easy to stand on the sidelines in life & wait for others to do the right thing. It takes character & integrity to be the one who is willing to step up & make a difference.
It's sad to see this video. We blame our leaders, but we should blame ourselves first. Instead of coming to the rescue, people were stealing stuffs, including children, our future leaders, the hope of our next generation of engaged, informed, and empathetic citizens & compassion.
Because, true leadership is the confidence to rally support or stand alone when the need arises, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of good people and citizens. Because, this life is short and what goes around, comes around.
While we pray against the of kidnappings, Boko-Haram and banditry, I believe Government can, decisively and confidently change it's approach to these horrific crises in order to find solution to them...
