@g__j @PeterEastern Numbers don't stack up for using a battery like this, and I am speaking as an enthusiastic Octopus customer with a battery. So "costs do not plummet for them" - the payback period is 10+ years.
@DaleVince The "spring tides" comment is also truly astonishing - yes they really do happen twice a (lunar) month, regardless of season, something which anyone who has a passing knowledge of flooding would know.
@robcook118 Bad road design doesn't help as the cycle lane mysteriously ends at the junction which is obvious to those at the junction but not those a distance away (like you). I cycle defensively as I would have wondered why the truck had stopped and slowed down a lot more.
