Fuzzing programs with a tokenizer and parser is hard? lFuzzer makes it easy! It can extract keywords and generate syntactically valid seed inputs for any input format while fuzzing the program.

1/ A belated post for #usesec23 because I lost access to my twitter and regained it only now.
There are a plethora of fuzzers now. But which one is best? How can we compare fuzzers? Coverage alone is is insufficient.
My student Nikolas Havrikov defended his Ph.D. thesis today! Nikolas' main contribution is _k-paths_, a means to assess and ensure structural input diversity in grammar-based fuzzing. Congratulations, Dr. @havrikov! 🎓🧑🎨🎉🥲 https://t.co/KzJKi1ODS5
@domenuk Yep, since the abstract of my dissertation needs to be in German (besides English) I am already thinking of naming the fuzzer „der Zerflauscher“, not sure if people will understand though 😄
Hello world! Today, I am officially released, and you can use me to create and fuzz high-quality binary inputs at amazing speed - with optional coverage guidance, and without needing seed inputs. Read about me and download me at https://t.co/XhxiOlnmPJ
@cestlemieux Coincidentally, I recently had a discussion with a friend. For me it feels like academia mostly concentrates on FAANG, OSS and academia problems, but small to mid size companies might have completely different problems and resources for solutions? Or am I missing something?
My colleagues are working on a study on debugging, feel free to join:
Are you familiar with python programming?
Are you interested in solving programming problems?
Do you want to support software engineering research?

When Life Gives You Oranges: A preprint of our paper on detecting and diagnosing intermittent job failures (with @SaschaJust , @SvenApel , and @AndreasZeller ) is now available. I am happy to present our work at @esecfse@FSEconf.

@DomSteinhoefel Check out @kotlin. Easy to use, can compile to many targets, and also nice for larger projects 😃 I usually like to use it for larger projects if I start something new.
@mboehme_ Congratulations! All the best for the future, looking forward to upcoming outstanding publications from your group and possibly one or the other collaboration back in the german time zone 😃
@mboehme_ True, this makes comparability much easier! Also, not only having the code but the possibility to run the tool easily is very helpful (e.g. a Docker container that provides the environment to run the tool in, i.e. performs the installation in a clean and controlled environment)
We (@lionel_c_briand@FabrizioPastore and YT) are hiring! Multiple research associate (postdoc) positions in software engineering at the Software Verification and Validation (SVV) group of the @SnT_uni_lu centre at the University of Luxembourg https://t.co/xrES7dZu1Q
