벨기에의 통합과 화합을 상징하는 필립 벨기에 국왕님을 만나 뵈었습니다. 국왕님께서는 왕세자 시절부터 다섯 차례 한국을 방문하시며 우리나라에 각별한 관심과 애정을 보여주셨고, 이는 오늘날 대한민국과 벨기에가 굳건한 신뢰와 협력 관계를 이어오는 든든한 토대가 되었습니다.

오늘 우리는 미래세대가 서로를 더 깊이 이해하고, 함께 배우며 성장할 수 있는 기반을 단단히 다져가자는 데 뜻을 함께했습니다. 뿐만 아니라 교육과 문화, 과학기술, 인적 교류를 비롯한 다양한 분야에서도 협력을 폭넓게 확대해 가길 기대합니다.

올해는 대한민국과 벨기에가 수교 125주년을 맞는 뜻깊은 해입니다. 125년에 걸쳐 쌓아온 두터운 신뢰와 우정을 바탕으로, 앞으로 더 큰 미래를 함께 열어가는 동반자로 나아가길 소망합니다. 따뜻하게 맞아주신 국왕님께 깊은 감사를 전합니다.

I had the pleasure of meeting His Majesty the King of the Belgians, who symbolizes the unity and cohesion of Belgium.

Since his time as Crown Prince, His Majesty has visited Korea on five occasions, demonstrating his deep interest in and affection for our country. His longstanding commitment has helped lay a strong foundation for the close relationship of trust and cooperation that Korea and Belgium enjoy today.

Today, we shared the view that we should further strengthen the foundations that will enable future generations to better understand one another, learn together, and grow together. We also expressed our hope to expand cooperation across a wide range of fields, including education, culture, science and technology, and people-to-people exchanges.

This year marks the 125th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea and the Kingdom of Belgium. Building on the trust and friendship we have cultivated over the past 125 years, I hope our two countries will continue to advance as partners in shaping a greater future together. I extend my sincere gratitude to His Majesty for the warm welcome.

안토니우 코스타 EU 정상회의 상임의장님 @eucopresident 께서는 축구를 무척 사랑하신다고 들었습니다. 각자 맡은 포지션은 다르지만 결국 가장 중요한 것은 좋은 팀워크라는 점에서 축구와 외교는 비슷한 점이 참 많은 것 같습니다.

남다른 열정으로 업무에 임하시는 우르술라 폰 데어 라이엔 EU 집행위원장님 @vonderleyen 을 뵙는 만큼 저도 평소보다 더 부지런히 준비하고 있습니다. 승마와 조깅을 즐기신다고 들었는데, 역시 체력도 좋은 리더십의 덕목이라는 생각이 듭니다.

복잡한 국제정세 속에서 대한민국과 유럽연합이 신뢰와 연대를 굳건히 하며, 함께 더 나은 해법과 미래를 만들어갈 수 있도록 최선을 다하고 오겠습니다.

I’ve heard that President António Costa @eucopresident is a passionate football fan. In both football and diplomacy, everyone plays a different position, but in the end, success depends on strong teamwork. There may be more similarities between the two than we think.

I’m also looking forward to meeting President Ursula von der Leyen @vonderleyen who is well known for her tireless work ethic. I understand that she enjoys horseback riding and jogging—reminding us that stamina is an essential quality of leadership. Inspired by her example, I have been preparing even more diligently for this visit.

At a time of growing global uncertainty, I will do my utmost to strengthen the partnership between the Republic of Korea and the European Union, built on trust and solidarity, and to work together toward better solutions and a brighter future.

When we have a law, we're deluded with, "What else are you going to make a law to ban it?" But wise people think, "Here's a law." How do we use it to make a profit and make it worthwhile.
On the other hand, the forces that make the law only make it when there is a specific subject where it is applied, used, and effective.
And we design the law for this subject, and if it's passed, we'll have to take over all the benefits that will come later. In the process of making the law, it's the validity and the justification that they put first, so that the public follows.
From this point of view, we need to look at how closely Trump and Peter Thiel and their forces, not the United States, are pushing these laws and where they're going to be made to use these laws, and that's where we have to start, so PI is clearly visible.
The public's attention is turned to the issue of interest payments, but it does not talk about important issues.
They don't explain how sophisticated the law was designed for pie.

이번 지방선거에서 우리 더불어민주당은 울산에서 기초단체장 1석, 광역의원 6석을 확보했습니다. 반면 국민의힘은 기초단체장 4석, 광역의원 15석을 확보했습니다.
지난 8기민선 시절, 우리 더불어민주당은 울산에서 기초단체장이 없고 광역의원이 2명에 불과했습니다. 이를 고려한다면 괄목할만한 성과이나, 우리가 기대했던 기대치보다는 아쉬움이 남는 것도 분명한 사실입니다.
시민들을 위해 봉사하는 책임정당의 역할을 다하기 위해, 우리는, 1) 울산 민주당의 단합과 배려 모범을 만들어가 야합니다. 2) 진보당 조국혁신당 등 우당들과 협력을 강화해야 합니다. 3) 시민들과 더 많이 더 진정으로 소통하며 함께 해야 합니다. 결국 우리의 모범과 시민의 신뢰만이 여소야대 정국을 풀어갈 수 있는 열쇠라고 생각합니다.
울산 민주당의 단합을 위해 우리 간 작은 차이와 다툼 그리고 갈등을 내려놓고, 서로 더 손잡고 더 소통하며 더 마음모으기를 희망합니다. 원망하고 비난하기 보다 어떻게 함께 할 것인가에 더 집중해야 합니다.

I am embarking on my first visit to Europe since taking office. At a time of overlapping global crises, this journey will be an opportunity to broaden the horizons of our cooperation and strengthen the foundations of Korea’s economy and diplomacy.

My first stop will be Belgium—a country that has cultivated a rich history and culture while embracing diversity. As a key logistics hub in Europe and home to a dynamic and innovative SME ecosystem, Belgium will be a trusted partner in expanding the presence of Korean businesses in Europe and creating new opportunities for growth.

There is also tremendous potential to deepen cultural and people-to-people exchanges. With BTS set to hold its first standalone concert in Belgium early next month, I believe it will further deepen the bonds between the younger generations of our two countries.

This year marks the 125th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea and the Kingdom of Belgium. I hope my first meeting with Prime Minister @Bart_DeWever will serve as a stepping stone toward advancing our bilateral partnership and opening a new chapter of future cooperation.
