I wanted Patrick Kane to come home to Buffalo BUT not at $8 million AAV.

Jarmo did the right thing avoiding him for that type of money. Kane is still a highly skilled offensive player and power play specialist but there’s no role on the Sabres that warrants that type of money for a player turning 38 this fall.

I’m not bitter that he once again spurned Buffalo. It’s always been clear that returning to his roots was never his top priority.

This move proves that neither is winning. It’s a nice reunion for him to return to where it all started and he had all of his success but the Blackhawks are still far away from turning things around.
