After hearing those words from Sudi and Kamket, you might be tempted to think that it is the Kalenjin position, but from experience, you have to divide the Kalenjin community into different distinct political groupings to understand it better.
But first, it is important to understand that "Kalenjin" as one tribe didn't even exist until 1948, when a colonial radio program aiming to disseminate information among what the colonial rulers called "Nandi-speaking people of the Rift Valley", was created. The radio program started with a vernacular phrase that translated to "I tell you...I tell you". The word "Kalenjin" loosely translates to this. By the time the colonialists left, these "Nandi-speaking communities in the Rift" had adopted the name of the radio show as the collective name of the about ten ethnic communities there. And of course for political expediency, it served politicians well, after independence, to keep it that way and exploit the numbers.
But before you fall for Senator Nyutu's "these Kalenjins" blanket references, there are four types of Kalenjins, in my view, and from the classifications, you may understand where the problem is.
1. Kalenjin Military Officers
These are the finest of all Kalenjins. This is the group in which you find the most principled, most forthright members of the community. And I could spend all night drawing the list, from Gen Daudi Tonje to Brigadier Joyce Sitienei down to any random Lieutenant called Kiprotich. Because the Kalenjin is collectively a martial tribe, its better instincts and strengths come out in war formations, so members of the community who choose the military effortlessly excel over those who choose politics and government. And this group frowns on group 4 below.
2. Kalenjin old money
This is the aristocratic Tugen-heavy class created by Moi over his vice presidency and presidency. They took their kids to top schools and made money over the years. But from Lee Njiru's insider book, you learn that the Nandi and the Kipsigis never really thought much of the Tugen, and hated how these "small people" amassed wealth. So there was competition to loot, hence the corporate graveyard where you find organisations like Kenya Posts and Telecommunications. In fact, the mistrust is why Moi built his security apparatus so much around Keiyos and Marakwets, the real warriors of the Kalenjin. Moi's favourite military man, Lazaro Sumbeiywo, was Keiyo, while his favourite escort commandant, David Kimaiyo, was Marakwet. Kenyans may know Kimaiyo as a fumbling police IG, but the Israeli-trained commando was so lethal that the refrain in the Recce Company used to be that if Kimaiyo wanted to take out your right eye from the sniper rifle at 2kms, his bullet wouldn't graze your nose!
Now, this old money group doesn't quite like group 4 below, and we will find out why.
3. Kalenjin professionals
These are the thousands upon thousands of Kalenjins we encounter every day, hard working and honest people who just want the best for the country, like all of us. They may be represented by faces such as Julius Kipngetich, Esther Koimet or Korir Sing'oei, but they are very many. You encounter them daily in media, industry, agriculture, construction, transport...the works. Many of them are frustrated by the failures of the Ruto government. In fact, if we had free and fair elections, you will find that this group never voted for Ruto and never voted for Uhuru before him. They carry the burden of group 4 unfairly.
4. The village heroes in government

These are indigenous seeds.
These seeds were passed to us by our forefathers and shared with us by our neighbours.
These seeds are FREE.
These seeds are reproducible β meaning, they can be planted, become crops, and harvested and the seeds be replanted.
These seeds are Afrocentric, they are therefore meant for the Afrikan soil and can adapt to Afrikan weather, diseases and pests.
The global crooks want to terminate our relationship with these seeds so that we can depend on their patented GMO seeds.
We must be prepared to fight anyone who threatens our food sovereignty.
