Opened a small studio in Vancouver (Kitsilano).
Something I've wanted to do for years — create a place in the city where friends can reach, work on projects, share ideas, hack into the night, etc.
Follow along for studio journals and project updates. ✨
@fabulavancouver 'Save'?
The government should be defining and evolving market policy, not becoming the greatest market participant; especially if this is an affordability measure.
If you want the market to clear faster, you change market policy by introducing a vacancy tax for example.

@sarbjitkaur1 I think we can agree this is economically illiterate/unsound policy and probably the worst rollout of our lifetime.

@gregorrobertson Those units are sitting empty because they haven't found fair market value. This is market manipulation and perpetuation of moral hazard, fundamentally anti-capitalist.

@gregorrobertson The 2,200 units planned for purchase within Ontario would be 11x GTA monthly sales at latest figures (month of May), almost an entire year’s worth of GTA condo sales!
@gregorrobertson The Government is backstopping the housing market by purchasing 4,400 condo units across British Columbia and Ontario, removing supply from the free market.
In addition to determining market policy itself, the government is now your greatest competitor in the housing market.

@ronmortgageguy Exactly, if the market isn’t clearing fast enough you address that with an Empty Homes Tax applicable to those units, not by buying supply. https://t.co/wBeD36QfgS
