The write-ahead log (WAL) is both how databases commit fast and how they safely recover from crashes.
Outside of B-trees, it's probably the most important structure in Postgres and MySQL.
(it's called the "redo log" in MySQL-land)

Me and @M3talDrag0n decided to compete against each other this time instead of joining up as a team and we accidentally tied for the 1st place 😅. Looking forward to seeing our names much more often in top places on @cantinaxyz as a team 🚀.
Good job everyone who participated!

Here is the reports:
That’s it, @xyz_remedy CTF has ended. Absolutely enjoyed every minute of a competition with around 2,000 teams from which 600+ active, this is insane.
@ChainLight_io proved once again they’re absolutely brilliant at this game.
Huge thanks to everyone involved, the contributors for the awesome challenges and all the participants who made it so competitive 🫡
GG
The biggest web3 @xyz_remedy CTF 2025 is over.
Congrats to @ChainLight_io, A-Team, and @Web3Kimchi for getting to the very top.
1800+ teams
600+ active participants
60+ teams to solve at least 2 tasks
Numbers are truly inspiring, it was thrilling and makes you constantly monitor the scoreboard.. thank you all for participating!
Lessons learned:
It was the first year we did this “discovery” CTF, there were a lot of variables and unknowns before we started.
Now that we have more information expect RCTF 2026 to be much more fun and refined.
Community contribution:
Is crucial... I want to thank everyone who contributed to this event: @osec_io@DecurityHQ@m4k2_0x and @TokemakXYZ@wintermute_t
All of this goes to you the web3 security community.
Hope we will see more contributions next year also.
Finally, we all can go to sleep.
