Compañeros del #SEPRONA han detenido a un vecino de San Bartolomé tras una investigación iniciada al difundirse una grabación en la que presuntamente agredía a un perro de su propiedad.

El animal fue intervenido y trasladado a la perrera municipal. Las diligencias serán remitidas a la autoridad judicial competente.

They do an excellent job and took to new homes these lovely 6 dogs. First Zuess, Ben, Jack, Pralinato, Christine and Windy ❤️😍
We can’t thank them enough for taking these dogs to their new families and wow… mostly males, just amazing!

A young bull elephant came off worse in an encounter with lions.

Our SWT/KWS Tsavo Vet Unit treated him for septic wounds to his left knee, sustained during an attempted predation. Thankfully, the injuries were confined to the soft tissue and had not reached the joint, giving him an excellent chance of a full recovery.

His mother was darted too, allowing the team to treat him safely and ensure they could reunite afterwards. Mother and calf woke side by side and remain together in the wild, giving this young bull the best possible start as he grows towards adulthood.

And we’re SO excited because she has a galgo friend😍
That means woodland walks, adventures, cuddles, and the good life she absolutely deserves. ❤️
A huge thank you to Sam for helping make this adoption happen, and an even bigger thank you to her wonderful adopters for opening their hearts and home to a galgo with a previously broken tail… hence the very fitting name Colita! 😂❤️
We’re thrilled that another one of our galgos gets to stay right here in Spain.

Oh boy 😞 broken legs, abscesses and alot of pain for a long time.
What a disgrace.
We don’t have a complete diagnosis yet as the trauma vet is on holiday but first we have to treat the infections and do (it’s done) a culture of the abscess.
Isn’t it odd that both dogs have broken legs in exactly the same place?

Celebrating the canine conservation heroes helping make Tsavo safer for all creatures. 🐾

Bela and her fellow SWT/KWS Canine Unit recruits are trained to sniff out wildlife crime and track down perpetrators. But when the SWT/KWS Tsavo Mobile Vet Unit, operated in partnership with the Kenya Wildlife Service, needed help treating an injured elephant, they were ready to assist.

Bela, a new recruit at the time, found the whole experience rather novel. Post-treatment, when the team ran into some ex-orphans and their babies, she didn’t miss a beat!

On #InternationalDogDay, we’re celebrating Bela and her four-legged teammates – heroes every day of the year.
