While everyone is going crazy buying Crypto Punks and TopShots, I think we're all forgetting about the original sports NFTs @mlbchampions ! MLB Champions was the first officially licensed sports NFT on the blockchain, and it was directly tied to live major league games! 1/5
@BAYCBoshi@MonoMesa What do you mean if MLB finds these? These are officially licensed NFTs- MLB sending a DMCA for these is like them turning around and burning old topps cards when their license expires.

@easytyga @Top_Shot_Sean @ToppsDigital@Topps@MLB@WAX_io The ram you need costs like 10 cents... this is what happens when you control your own account on the blockchain.
@kimy3989 Yeah they are pretty much just exact copies of physical Topps cards. Hopefully if this works out they'll start to make the art pop a little more.

@kimy3989 I think it can only have a positive effect! MLB Champions is still the first officially licensed MLB blockchain product with a very limited supply compared to topps- and most people don't know that it exists. Topps will help with that discovery.
🔥Pre-minting on @WAX_io has begun, and @Topps@MLB Series 1 NFTs are now tracking on CryptoSlam!

@jlimbodiedthat If you're talking about the MLBC app, no, none of those figures are NFTs. Previously there was a process to turn those app figures into NFTs, but Lucid Sight no longer has the license from the MLB that allows them to do that. Only way to get them now is on a site like OpenSea.
@garyvee@MLBChampions is pretty fun to look at (and used to be fun to play). Started in 2018 as the first officially licensed sports NFT and hasn't gotten much attention since!

@Kosintas @MLBChampions Unfortunately they shut off the process that actually turns the players from the app into NFTs. No clue if they will ever turn it on again, for now the only way is to buy NFTs that were already minted.
@firecreekpetro@MLBChampions If you're saying that the execution of MLB Champions sucked, you're definitely right (or I wouldn't have to make a post about them like this😂) But it still doesn't change the fact that they were the first officially licensed sports NFT
