THIS IS HOW TRUST WALLET HACK WAS DONE

As per @SlowMist_Team preparations for this hack started around Dec 8 and attacker may have gained control of Trust Wallet dev devices

hacker modified a js library called PostHog within original Trust Wallet code

> they changed the target server from official one to fake server which mimics like the original one
> they changed settings like aggressive capture modes so it would grab everything typed

the code is written in a way that when someone imports a seed phrase the PostHog library captures the input and quietly sent it straight to the hacker server

hackers pushed update on Dec 22/24 and started draining on Dec 25

they waited for Christmas because its the time when the official team will be in holiday which slows reaction from team and gives space to steal information

till now drained over $7M across btc, eth, sol in hours from multiple addresses. Trust wallet team promised for refunds
